My wife has a Zire 71 that we recently had to get serviced. Palm sent us a replacement unit but I can't get it working properly. Here's the loop:
- I put the new Zire in the cradle and sync'd. It immediately hung up while trying to install Agendus.
- I removed Agendus from the Backup list and still had problems.
- Thinking that I could recover by restoring from the SD card, I tried to install BackupBuddyVFS. That hung up as well.
- I put it on another machine that I use for syncing up a Sony Clie NX73V and no problems at all. BackupBuddyVFS installed.
- I then decided to update the Palm Desktop on the first machine. I download the latest version and update. The installation removes PocketMirror (which she needs to sync to Outlook).
- I use the Zire71 install CD to put PocketMirror back and it removes Palm Desktop....as in, it's gone!!! I can't find it anywhere.
How do I break this loop?? What's the deal here? Any clues?
