Anyone know of any good deals on right now, or where I can get one cheap? or anyplace I can get a half decent deal in Canada?
BTW, any restrictions on memory sticks for TH55? or are they all a go? (eg. PRO, Magic Gate, size considerations? etc.)

I just ordered a Sandisk 512Mb MSPro from ecost.com for CAD170 delivered to my door thru their association with borderfree.com. It's a touch slow--about 2 and a half weeks from order to delivery but it's the best I found.
Considerations: a Pro stick will only work on an NX60/70 after you install a patch. If you're paranoid, that means that you will want a non-Pro stick for backup since if you lose everything, you won't be able to restore from a Pro stick until the patches are applied which requires a PC. This is the scenario when I travel since I don't always bring my laptop...
Also, if you're using it only on a CLIE, don't bother with the high-speed MemorySticks. The CLIE can't utilize it so don't pay for it.
There are some Sony devices that needs the smaller Duo format of MemoryStick. All Duo sticks come with an adapter to make them fit the larger MemoryStick format. Again, if you do not foresee/intend using your stick aside from your CLIE, don't pay the extra for that. With the prices always falling, you're better off buying a Duo stick 6 month or a year down the line if you need it then.

I just noticed that eCost (the link above) has now dropped the price of the 1GB stick to $116.99. Only for the next 50 hours or so, however. Don't know what it means though lol. :p 50 hours? haha.

-JhintonhWow, it's amazing how much the price has dropped on these. It was hard to find a 128MB MS for that much not too long ago!!

I know what you mean... even when I bought my first memory stick it was probably considered cheap for some of the old timers. Around $110 for a plain 128MB Lexar memory stick. I still can't believe that I paid that much. It was one third of the cost of my Clie!
And when I see Memory stick ads next to SD card ads.. I can almost cry... we're paying so much more. But what can you do...
I just bought a 1GB MS from PC Mall for $117 with free shipping or $9.99 FedEx. It arrived today as advertised. Pretty good deal!

I console myself by reminding myself that my CLIE is way cooler than any PalmOne device... But I hear you. I bought a 512Mb stick last September right before the massive price drop in November/December... <sigh>

Anybody seeing the 2g sticks? I figure if I am going to purchase that much portable memory go all the way. although 1 and 2g is not really that much memory, nowadays. I remember in my day when you could go to a movie buy a record and have change, all in one 28mb stick, now it's all 1g here 40g there it's crazy stuff homey. Francis

Amazon.com also has both 512M and 1G Sandisks on for $60 (- a $10 rebate = $50) and $130 respectively. Not a bad deal at all!

Yeah, I think the big sticks are for fans of MP3 or video. I wouldn't mind having a 256 (more books . . . MORE BOOKS) but I'm still doing fine with my piddly 128 .

I think I paid $149 for my 512Mb stick when I first got my TH55. I can't believe how much prices have dropped! Now I want a 1GB MS but I figure I'll try to wait a little longer until they're less than $100... ;)

My first computer had a 20mb hard drive and 1 mb RAM. My TH-55 has 32mb without adding a memory stick and costs $2800 less than that computer. $112 for a 1 gb stick at ecost is a great deal.

Good Morning-
Indeed more ebooks was a big reason that I bought a 1GB MS. Also more room for family photos, my own writing, lots of reference documents (thanks Memoware), Nexus as well as MP3s. I am near to bumping my head on the 1GB MS now. But I can simply remove a few MP3s without much pain. Got an iPod at Xmas...using the CLIE less for in car tunes now, although I still use the CLIE exclusively for tunes whilst writing or reading.
