16bit Skin Generator

I'm looking for a more convenient way of making 16bit Grafitti and Status Bar Skins for my NX70V. 'NXSkinGen' only supports 8bit and 'QBSM' and 'TH55 Skin Maker' requires that I individually edit over 100 seperate bitmap files. Is there anything like a combination of the two where I can just edit one template and generate a 16bit skin from that?

Pruss has a program on palgear that just takes a screen then cuts it up in to the bitmaps needed. It can also do a transparent effect! Just try searching under skinner on palmgerar. Or go to advanced and search under deloper. Pruss

You still need to edit six bitmaps for different state combinations with my skin maker. Best way is to use an editor that support layers (I use the Gimp; PhotoShop is even better) and then just turn on/off various layers to generate the six images. A sample layered file like that is included. (If you have The Gimp installed, then in fact you can just start with the Geek skin and use a provided script-fu script that generates all six images from the various layers of geek.xcf.) MS, CF and similar icons are filled in automatically.

After you have the six images you run

graffiti16 image1.bmp image6.bmp MyGraffitiSkinName
sb16 image1.bmp image2.bmp image3.bmp image4.bmp image5.bmp image6.bmp MySBSkinName

Key:
image1.bmp = all buttons unselected, disabled down arrow, speaker off
image2.bmp = all buttons unselected, disabled up arrow, charging
image3.bmp = all buttons unselected, active down arrow, empty battery, speaker on
image4.bmp = all buttons unselected, active up arrow, full battery
image5.bmp = all buttons selected, active down arrow, speaker on
image6.bmp = all buttons selected, active up arrow, speaker off

Hi Pruss,

I have a problem with your skin maker.
When I try :
sb16 image1.bmp image2.bmp image3.bmp image4.bmp image5.bmp image6.bmp Name,
I have multiple errors : the first one is something like "-crop : unrecognized option".
An other thing, I can't use the command graffiti16, it tells me that I don't have permissions ...

I'm running XP Pro.

Please help me, coz I'm working on a new VG/SB skin and I would love to share it with everybody.

Do you have ImageMagick installed?

It may be that you have another program called "convert" somewhere on your path. If so, edit the batch files to point them to the ImageMagick directory.

And about VG Factory, I don't managed to make 16 bits VG. I onlyu have 8 bits VG ...
Is there something special to do with VG Factory ? (I choose 16 bit option, I choose a 16 bit images for button pressed and not pressed but does not work ...)

And with TH55 skin maker, i have the same problem. In the directories which contain bitmaps, there are several bitmaps with only 4 or 8 bits. How do you make a 16 bits SB ?

The last problem I have with this program is the battery icon : When it is pressed, I see the Battery Charging Image .... Pruss, can you help me again ?

Is the battery charging image problem there in the skins I've made available?

Pressed? You can press the battery icon? You can't on the NX.

I found the problem : you can press the battery icon on TH55.
In the sb16 script I've seen that the pressed image of the battery is taken from picture 2 (Charging) ... So I modified it to take this image in the picture 5.
Sorry I can't remember the file name concerned in the directory tmp (But I found it by comparing with the templates of the TH55 skin maker)

Yes that's number 6400 and there is only one state.

I updated the skin generator on palmgear and pdassi to take this into account.

I also updated the Geek skin.

I don't have the Sony skin for these items as we only have an NX60 and NX70V, neither of which includes 7330. What specific CF icon is 7330?
