Does TH55 come with a cradle?

Hi ..

My friend picked me a TH55 yesterday ,,,
I wont be getting it until I see him which is in 3 weeks time ,,,
I am not sure ,, but does the TH55 come with a cradle ?

I would love to have a cradle for it ,,,

Can the people who have the european model comfirm it for me ?? please

No. The TH55/E does not come with a cradle. I use my old T610's cradle but it's not a 100% fit.

It's nice to have a cradle but it's not actually essential as the later Clies (which have WiFi) are designed to sync wirelessly.

Sync wirelessly ? what do I need for that ? a wireless card on my PC ?

It's just that it's easier to use the Clie and have it charging at the same time :confused:

I'm using the PEGA UC75 cradle, unscrewed the metalic back - removed the plastic inlay (carefull) - screwed the back on again. It fits perfect. I don't know how to insert images otherwise I would have inserted them.

I would say...YES :( I've tried for weeks to get one of them. I mailed several sonystyle online shops. Sonystyle.com had some but they didn't want to sell me anything because I wasn't in the USA. I mailed several online stores (amazon, expansys....) but they didn't have the sony cradle anymore.

For the people who have the UC55 ... does the Charger that come with the TH55 work on it or do I need to get the PEGA - AC10 seperatly ?

SonyStyle clearance is 'hit-or-miss'. Try it every few days and you may get lucky. Maybe you can have someone in the US order for you and then ship to you. Do you have PayPal?

I almost ordered one last Thursday, but the shipping cost was half as much as the cradle.

You can also modify the UC75 (remove the clear plastic piece) to use with the TH55. I think there is a thread or link somewhere on this site. I picked up a few up on EBay for $8 each for my NX70V. I kept them after I sold the NX70V and now use one for my TH55.

You can make your own out of heavy paper. Google search on how to made a cradle. I believe it is made out of paper and your charger. Worth a search if you can not find what you want for the price you can afford. At the time I thought it was a novel concept.

T6665 and NX80V cradles work with the TH55 as well. Problem is (small one) that the dimple on various other model cradles do not line up with the slot in the back of the TH55. Sony did not make this a standard height from the bottom of the PDA so they could sell lots of cradles. Using care, you can shave off the dimple on the cradle because you really don't need it. The PDA is slightly wobbly, but no big deal! :)

Anyway I bought the PEGA-UC55 for $29.95 which isn't bad since I have seen it going over $60 on ebay :(

Got one too from PC connection for $48.07 - shipping to the UK was over $18.00 - nearly half!!

It's amazing that Brando charge $3.00 to ship airmail from Hong Kong to the UK (3 items: case, gogo plugs, retractable hotsync & screen protectors - so not that different in weight I think).

Even across the UK companies were asking over £10 ($18.19).

Ah well! ...got one now!

Edit: It looks like it does not come with the AC adapter. You said your plug was broken on your AC adapter. Do you mean the dual usb/AC plug or the small AC only plug. YOu only need the small AC plug to use with this cradle.
