IR Hotsync not working

I have recnetly got a new laptop and have installed the Palm Software and all works except for IR hotsyncing? When I choose IR in hotsync setup it retunrs the error "Error accessing the IR port". I have a nokia phone and the software for that works fine.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked the IR on the Hotsync Icon(when you click once on it) on the bottom right of the Laptop's screen?
