I've also heard of charging with laptop, how?

I thought retractable USB to mini USB are quite easily to find. But the charging wires are not connected inside the UX50. You can try to solder them yourself, if you are brave enough. ;)

Otherwise buy the charger and cable from Brando. That's what I did.

you'll have to open up your UX and solder the appropriate wires :eek:. i'd like to do it someday but now. godd luck if you do :D

sorry to dissapoint you. there's no way to charge UX using USB cable without internal modifications. the UX is specifically designed to charge and and sync separetely unlike other clie models. i'd like to direct you to the thread about someone rewiring the internal circuits in his UX but i seriously dont remember where. i'll post a link here if i find it..

If you use the leather casing that has the USB connector (forgot which brand), then charging via USB would be possible. :)

yes. thats true. might i add that it's still sort of a work around. you cannot charg via mini usb

I know I just read where someone was charging using their laptop? how? and I don't believe they said anything about rewiring etc.
