Hi there,
I'm a new Clié NZ90 owner.
Can you help me about the Capture key on the right side of the NZ90 ?
1. How can I assign the "Capture" function to another key ? Actually, when the headphones + remote control are connected to the Clié, the plug hides the "Capture" key. So I can use it. I must use the "Capture" button drawn on the Clié Camera S software :( It's not very easy.
2. Acording to Clié's user manual : when I press "Capture" key (the hard one), NZ90 must launch Clié Camera S (from Clié launcher). Unfortunately, when I press Capture key, my Clié beeps twice but do nothing else. I reset it and re-assign "Clié Cam S" to "Capture key in the "Capture button parameter" window in the Clié Camera S software. But it definitively doesn't work :(
3. I want to record a movie. Unfortunately, when I press Capture key, record doesn't start. I must press the "Rec" " button drawn on the Clié Camera S software to start / stop recording. assign "Movie recorder" to "Capture key in the "Capture button parameter" window in the Clié Camera S software. But it doesn't work.
Please help :)
Thank you very much

first of all, when the earphones are in you can still use the capture button, just press on the wire near the jack and it will press in the capture button.
as far as your other problems go, you are confusing me. The NZ comes with the capture button(the hard one) already assigned to the camera app to launch and take pictures.
only if you can get this to work right should you attempt to reassign it to your movie recorder and you can do that from the prefs in the movie recorder app not the camera app.

I use the capture button on my NX to launch mcphling. it works perfect. now if only it was on the right side inside of the left side since I am left handed.
to do this in mcphling, click activation, then check button activation, then choose custom.

i am left handed and that is a good point, technology is really all about right handers, we left handers just get shafted will all designs, I would gladly buy left-handed tech if only they would make it.

Ya, us lefties really get screwed in this right handed world. I remember someone had taken apart their NX and was working on moving the capture button to the opposite side, so it would be easier for him (lefty of course)

You are right.
Actually, I'd try to assign the "Capture" hard key from Movie Recorder software (not Clié Camera S) to enable start/stop record, but, it still doesn't work. When I press the Capture key, Clié beeps : I think it want to tell me "something wrong / function not available / key not assigned / ..."

If no others Clié come with my #2 and #3 issues, I think it’s a bug of my Clié (European version).
Gravity on issue #3 is very high :(
Actually, I perform an hard reset, and it still doesn’t work. I try different languages of Palm OS available in ROM (English, French), and I get the same issue.
The Capture button works great when Clié Camera S is running but it doesn’t work at all in Movie Recorder.
The Capture button launches neither Clié Camera S nor Movie Recorder.
I can’t find fix about that at Clié support.

My capture button will beep if I don't press down on it deep and solid. Sometimes my big fingers will connect, but not enough so to activate the app. That might be your problem.
As to above, lefties rule! We're going to take over the world ;)

Thank you ;) thank you ;) thank you ;)
You save me ! You are right.
I don't press down on "Capture" button deep enough.
Actually, I pressed it softly (as I press it to start auto-focus)
Now it's working great
Thank you very much ! ;)
