This thread is for tips and simple sharing for Newbies. When someone wants simple things we shouldn't have to research everywhere for it. Most people on this forum don't respond to simplest questions in my opinion. So this Thread comes.
Using Memory Stick tip while figuring out how to use NX70.
Once you have installed everything you NEED (not all the wants of nift demo-wares and games) back it up to the MS. I did this after all the setting ,shortcuts are made too. For a while I will back it up each time I find a program and settings that I want to keep. Then, intall programs you want to try out in the MS. Test out the program and either keep it there, copy it over to Internal memory. If you like the program and decide to upgrade or keep it it's now your decision to run it from MS or Internal. My logic of keeping Internal bare minimum is to assist the performance of NX70 and I can copy and paste MS to my document.
This is my offering of tip for the day.

The reason simple questions usually aren't answered is because the same questions get asked every couple of days. Why such hostility toward people who are trying to help you? There are many helpful people here, but these people who are helping are doing a lot of work to help, and I don't think it's to much to ask to try the search box first if you have a question. The great thing about that is that many times the questions are already answered, NO WAIT!:)
But, really, if your gonna be a jerk to the people who are trying to help you (as seen in other threads), then you probably won't get any questions answered because of that. People here aren't getting paid to help, but they do a damn good job for free, so it should be apprecaited.

Having been here for a couple of months, I think the vast majority of users go out of their way to assist people, new and old. None of us are sitting here awaiting new questions to pounce on, and given the vast number of threads it is impossible to see, read, respond to all of them.
We can all learn something new by politely reading, posting and assisting others.... if we don't, we may as well be in a chat room on AOL.....

Agreed Cbulock if people are to lazy to search for answers to there questions and expect us non paid soothsayers to jump on every question they ask I think they should be nice about it. 99.999% of the people here will help every one but there is a limit I have seen people post thread upon thread upon thread with out even scrolling to the bottom of the first page to see that it has allready been answered. Laziness should not be rewarded with kindness.

This forum is one of the richest forums for Clie infomation I am aware of. It is an invaluable resource for Clie owners. Doing a search prior to asking a question is just good manners. If you don't 'feel up to' doing a search, you might be better off calling Sony service. They get paid for what they do.
After cbulock's post, I looked at your posts (all 11 of them) and you *seem* to expect that we will just jump on your question as soon as it's posted.
Your manner is kinda offensive for a new guy.
Good luck!

I got my first Clie (NX70V) a couple of months ago after upgrading from a palm V (what a relief) and found this amazing site shortly afterwards.
For my sins I'm a designer for a living and so frequent loadsa design based forums, I have to say that the people here are amongst the most helpful and least sarcastic that I have come accross :D
I think the problem for the newbie is that you quite often don't know what a silly or obvious question is. Working on this bases I always search first and ask questions later ;)

Hi. This is my first post. When I first got my NX70V, I found this site. THANKFULLY! Being an experienced message board user (DSLReports) I knew enough to search and read....and then search some more and read some more.
Many people are not used to message boards, therefore they are not used to how to search, or that the question they have has been asked time after time. However, unfortunately, many people are lazy as well. That is the huge downside to message boards ... yes it gets frustrating when day after day you see the same questions asked, and day after day you have to hear NETFONT stinks...LOL. by a certain someone. ;)
However as with most boards that i have seen you people here are very patient and very helpful.
And for that... this perennial newbie says Thanks
:D
