People read but do not post their own frustrations and different attempts made to rectify the problem.

I have been reading and serching for answers. Either this forum is not the best or people are more seeking answers rather than provided one. I scrolled through many unnecessary comments post however. At the end, the researching lead me to more knowledge about NX70V.

MSimport and Export:
THese were issues:
1) MS Export failed to install from CD.
2) MS IMport would connect to the computer but no way to access them.
Main Cause: 6in1 Media Reader.

My steps of solution:
1) Clean install is always the best. THus, uninstall Export, SCCI drive, and any remaning folders in the C:\program files or WIndows files that lead to this. Uninstall the drivers from the device manager.

2) Reboot (It's time consuming but worth it). I turn it off COMPLETELY and then turn it back on.

3A) Reload the MS Export and Import driver back and got it back to work.

3) HOWEVER, the issue for me was with a 6in1 media reader recently installed on the bay of my computer. I got a hint of this from a Linux based forum by change. (Those Linux folks detail forum with detailed information) I went back to device manager to disable the four storage volume drivers(?). THEN I Loaded.

I had to delete, reset, softset, harset, lose files including MS stick files and backup, smoke many packs, eyes watering from glare of the monitors, lacked in sleep but it's done. SO..to say time and effort...I made a COPY back up of MS stick files to My DOcumnets.

Honestly, this forum wasn't anyhelf for my problem. I went through such frustration I am more than willing to help anyone go through something like this. Write me jim@sckc.net

Hey, you did get some replies. Why do you think this forum should be the best? You have a lot of transient people who, yes are only interested in getting answers. This forum is for the sharing of ideas and solving each others problems. I don't get paid for spending my time here and your not the only fish in the sea with difficulties. A lot of the IT people are off during the weekends. BTW, I am no expert on things, but I do try to help, although I know just enough to be dangerous:D! Typically MS Import HotSync troubles can be a real bear to solve, some never do! Some users know that too and are reluctant to get involved. Anyone here who helps, is doing so willingly!

Thank you for the feedback! There have been others who don't tell all what they did to cause the problem either. Some stuff is also unexplainable.

BTW, your statement that the forum was of no help puzzles me? I don't think it's fair since the resolution you gave, was given to you in the thread below???

Sorry if I sounded ill.
My intention was not that.
My fault for missing the thread.
Thanks again.

I get a weird problem - I have no probs with MS Import on my comp at work using Win 2K, I can even play the MP3's stored on my stick through Winamp on the main comp!

But.... on my comp at home using XP pro I can connect and browse, but as soon as I access a file my XP crashes, I even get a blue screen, yes a blue screen on XP!

When the comp has rebooted I get no problems as long as my NX70 is attached on reboot.

Not really that much of a problem but someone might have an easy fix? ;)

Win 2K and XP have been notorious with corrupted Sony USB drivers. The only advice I can offer is to remove and add them back. I have no clue what causes this and the fact you get the blue screen of death, tells me it's a low level driver problem.
