well, I just received the metal case from inno pocket today.
the first impression is so far acceptable. the quality of material is not bad, however, the over all size of NX is now a lot bigger. after I try it out for few day. I will post more detail reviews.
but.... for $40 dollar! I have no complain at all.
It would be plus if their have in gunmetal color to match my NX.

I got mine last Monday. I really like it alot. The fit is outstandig and I fin that it meets my needs. On another thread, it was pointed out that there is no reset hole in the case. Easily remedied with a Dremel tool. The brushed Alum case is a good match with the NX70

I have two on order. One for my NX and one for an SJ30. Two to three weeks is a long wait. I should have used FedEx. I'll be posting reivews when they come in.

some say it is some say it isn't - i know that's a frame of reference and even a matter of opinion but which is it guys! i really want something that's fairly form fitting... unlike most of the bulky leather cases.

Ok. Here are the numbers I got:
-from palminfocenter.com: size of the innopocket case: 140 x 79 x 29 mm
from sony, NX's size (without projection): 139.7 x 73 x 23.8 mm
so the length is about the same, but the side and thickness are about 1/4 inch more.

Can you still hotsync the NX on the cradle without removing it from the case?

well the over all size now is about 5 1/2" x 3" x 1" (the thinckest part)
it is pretty big, but since it is metal case. I will put it in the back pocket of my jean without have to worry to crush the NX.

I had ordered two cases on the 12th and they shipped out of HK on the 13th and just arrived here (Hawaii) ten minutes ago (today is the 18th). Not bad. The cost for shipping was very reasonable $6 for TWO cases via air mail, not FedEx. One case for my NX70V and one as a gift for a SJ-30 owner.
First impression for the NX 70V case is that it looks up to the job of defending my Clie from being crushed in my backpack. It looks like it will also provide a good level of protection when I keep my Clie the pocket of my cargo shorts that I always wear for work.
First negative impression. It's slippery. The paint is not textured like the Clie's. I could see this unit maybe sliding out of my grip, or off of a slanted surface.
Also - The Innopocket NX70V case does not have a positive locking mechanism to securely hold the NX in place. But it does have a decent amount of neoprene padding that seems to hold and keep the pda from falling out of the case. Overtime the padding will probably compress and lose this holding ability, though.
Overall I'm happy with the product. It looks like it will do what I need it to: prevent crushing, scratches, reduce the amount of dirt and dust the NX would normally be exposed to, and, provide a measure of "drop protection" for my beloved Clie.
For $34 bucks it's worth it.

Other notes on the Innopocket case:
I like the mesh material over the speaker hole. To keep dirt/sand/lint out of the NX housing.
You can't use the cradle with the case on.

Question for those who use this NX70V case:
I had an unfortunate "accident" with my NX, and now there's a gap where the screen swivels. I can push the screen back to where it should be, but it moves back out when I release the pressure. I'm wondering if the Innopocket case will HOLD the screen in place once the NX is placed within it. From the pictures I've seen, I think it will, but I thought it best to ask some of you.
Or can anyone recommend a case other than Innopocket that might fit the bill? TIA!http://www.cliesource.com/gallery/data/500/6577clie01.jpg

I've had my case for about a month now and because I'm a stop-and-go clie user (use it for about 60 seconds, 200 times a day) the case has gotten looser and looser. BUT, because it's just formed metal, I've found it very easy to correct this problem with bending certain parts just a little bit causing no harm to the case. I'd defintily back up everyone who's said this is the best case for the money. It provides armor like no other.

italix - See my (sad) picture on the previous page. Does the NX sit deep enough in the case that the screen would be held in place by the bottom of the case? Hopefully that makes sense. Here's a pic I used in another thread to help illustrate.http://www.cliesource.com/gallery/data/500/6577case.jpg

Just about 2mm of the screen (about half of its thickness) is actually in the bottom part of the case. So, yes, it would hold the screen in place.
The only thing I could see as being a problem though, is that the case does allow my nx to move 3 or 4 mm along where your arrow is, so most of your clie may be at the top of the case, while the screen is touching the bottom. (does that make sense) But I don't see that as much of a problem.

How did the damage to your screen occur? Inquiring minds want to know.

is this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000092ZL5/yiquanshome-20) identical to the Innopocket one you guys mentioned?
I bought it from amazon.com for $17 and it works pretty well with my NX70.
