I'm starting this survey on who has had their clie the longest while using it everyday with original batteries. I'm not only wanting to see how much the general public uses their clie but also how long a clie can last on it's first set of batteries.

please tell your clie's model.

If you don't use it everyday please give a general idea of how often.

I have had my T615C since september and I use it about thirty minutes a day except for five days when I was busy with holiday things.

Thank you for your participation.

Aw heck, why not?

T665C.

Minimum usage per day: 2+ hours
Battery indicator (when my day is through): 60%

That's my regular usage. Then it's off to the cradle for a charge for the rest of the night.

What I use it for? Mp3 with screen off, some PIMs, games, WP, and SS with screen at 1/4 brightness. To tell you the truth, I'm very amazed at the battery life I'm getting with this thing.

I have had my T-615 for about a year now. I use it 2+ hours every day and my days usage usually brings it down to 50+% on the battery. That is with the backlight at 50% and beam off in place. I have noticed something in the past couple of weeks though. My battery doesn't charge all the way to 4.27V like it used to. Now it only charges to 4.15V. It also seems that I am dropping to 50% battery life a little qucker than usual. What is happening? Can I expect the battery to continue this seeming decline? Anyone know? Thanks for all the great information on this site!

Thank you Shadowhuah for your input. That is exactly the problem I am trying to address and prepair for. I am going to see if replacing the batteries with other rechargable ones or building a rechargable battery pack is more efficient and or easier.
I plan on making my clie live on a very long time.

about your question, I really don't know but alot of other rechargable batteries only have a life span of a year. Just depends on how much they are used and how often they are charged. The ones in our clies of course are a different breed of battery though. A better battery. All I can tell you at this point is I hope they last forever but sounds like they won't.

I've got a T-615C... It is "ON" about 2 hours per day mostly because I play games on it in the evening.   Otherwise, I read AvantGo articles and do the regular look-up stuff (Where am I supposed to be now, what's that phone number again, what's next on my To-Do list).

My unit is about 9 months old and anymore the battery doesn't seem to stand up like it used to.  I could go days without recharging.  Now, by the end of each day I'm down below 50%, and sometimes I get a warning that the battery needs to be recharged.  The lower it goes, the faster it runs out (kinda like the fuel guage in my car... It takes much longer to go through the 1st half tank than the 2nd )

Frankly, I'm worried as to what will happen when the battery goes.  I never did understand why these weren't made with swappable batteries (like my camera, cell-phone, pager, camcorder, gameboy, toothbrush, etc, etc).

Shadowhuah, My T615 never charged past 4.15 V. That was max charge since the day I got it. I'm honestly jealous that you had such a high max voltage for so long! :D

I had my T615 for about 4 months, used it about 1 to 2 hours a day and it never went below 80% by the time I got home. Just wanted to contribute.

Hey all,
Tried something today you may find interesting. I did a full charge on my pda, then I backed up all my data and THEN did a hard reset. Before the hard reset the battery charged to 4.23V. After the hard reset the battery charged to 4.27V. (I am using SYSINFO 1.4 to check out the battery charge. Available at www.aldweb.com). Anyway, now I am mystified about the whole deal. We will see how loing the 4.27V recharge lasts. I will keep you posted.
Now I have another prblem...My keyboard has stopped working. (PEGA-KB11.) I think it is because I used FastCPU. Fast CPU is now off my system and I reloaded the driver for the keyboard and still no go. Would Jackflash have anything to do with this problem? Little Help?
Thanks,
shadowhuah

If yours are charging more than 4.0V then you are getting more than you paid for. The reason I brought up my was because of the drop in max charge. I am just noticing a degredation. I hope I am not coming across as complaining...just wondering about the lower max charge. According to the above link referenced by Buddy_Genie, they are only promising 3.7V. So maybe if you are getting more than 3.7V you have no need to worry. (BTW Buddy_Genie, that is good news. )

Mine charges to 4.15V, seems to last a fair few hours. Sometimes it seems like it doesn't last as long as it used to, but I use my CLie so much more these days. Probably 2-3 hours a day.

Re the batteries, can you get the battery replaced by Sony at a service centre at some point? If so how much do they charge for that.
