The time ha come and I'm going to be a father for the first time. My wife is 11 weeks pregnant and we are really excited. I was wondering if there was a good baby program for my NX. HR+ would be nice, but any colorful program with great features would do it.
Thanks a lot and I promise to take pictures of my baby with my Clie. By that time we might have the 4MP Clie with built in BT and WiFi.

I've seen a good number of neat apps on:
www.palmgear.com
Do a search.
Good Luck, happiness and health with the new little one "to be".

One that I use and like because it is NOT just a dedicated "baby journal" is Daynotez by Natara. You can have general (e.g., Business, Personal) or specific (e.g., Reynolds Project, Baby Jane, Dear Wife, etc) categories.
THe desktop companion is great, there are enough import/export options, and it works great with Slap, a new "quick entry" app came on the scene recently.
The value of "dedicated" apps is that they often include space for information that you might not think of writing down that will often come in handy (immunizations, developmental milestones, etc).
Best to you - fatherhood is great!

Daynotez is AMAZING. I don't know why it is (like, to me, none of the functions are particularly obviously amazing enough that I can mention it here --- but they come together into a really nice package), but when I went to Japan, I switched from using Quickword for my journal to Daynotez - never looked back. The desktop companion is wicked, too.
Probably the best app you can get for that. Too bad it doesn't remember whether it was left in HR+ or not, so I have to use hrFontMapper to force it every time...

Ah, yes, DayNotez. The more I use the program, the more I like it. I used to use "Daily Journal" feature in Agendus, coupled with putting meetings notes, thinking that I would not need a dedicated journaling program. Once I started to use DayNotez, I no longer use meeting notes in datebook dbs. DayNotez handles all journaling activities.
Although I don't have a separate category for writing journal about my son, but I use "personal" category to write journal about my family (my wife & son).

Yes, congrats! My son just turned 2-months yesterday. Good software that I have found:
dT-Pain
Can't seem to find that pain intensity scale card when you need it? Why not keep one in your Palm OS device?
JCAHO standard RI.1.2.8 requires that all patients have an appropriate and rapid assessment of their pain. Standard PE.1.4 requires health care providers to use a pain intensity measure.
dT-Pain is a shareware Palm OS utility that allows patients to indicate the intensity of their pain by tapping the PDA screen.

CountDown
This is an app of the series YANA (yet another nonsense application). Actually I wrote it for a friend who always counts the days remaining to a special date. May be there is someone who likes it :-)
This may be the simplest (beyond hello world) app I ever came across for the Palm OS. Just set a date and see how many days remains.

Your welcome, cbulock. That is a list of software that I found to be essential when my wife was pregnant. And of course some of it is now for keeping track of the little one.
The contraction timer software really works!
Here is a freeware ob wheel:
http://www.freewarepalm.com/medical/stluke'sobwheel.shtml
I used it and it worked just fine. It's made by the same author as the OB Wheel that Palmgear charges $10 for. The freeware also includes Peds Calc. It's a calculator for pediatric medication dosage. I haven't really tried to second guess the doctor with this one yet. I simply double check the doses with the pharmacist.
We took our son in for his first series of shots yesterday. ouchy! :( Shots 2003 was very valuable. I even reminded the doctor of a immunization that was due that he had forgot to mark down on the list! ;) The doc and nurse were really impressed that I had all the immunization info right there in my hand. Shots 2003 even made note of the combination formula that they used! I even double checked it against the CDC site, and it's completely accurate. All for free.
I used Stickem to keep track of the immunizations, but I will probably make a HandyShopper DB to track them (isn't HS2 great!).
Another nice utility for keeping track of time missed (you will miss some time) at the office is Hours 1.8.5 freeware.

Been a LONG time since anyone contributed to this discussion, but just goes to show the power of searching on CS....I'm 32 weeks away from being a Dad, and eager to find apps that mean my future baby, and my current one (otherwise known as NX73) can coexist ;-)
Think I might have to use some of my spare time and spare webspace to set up some pages for PDADads !!! :-)

Babies, babies everywhere! I would vote for daynotez (useful for a multitude of reasons) and HandyShopper...also invaluable. If you look in the HS yahoo group files > business, (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/handyshopper/files/Business/) you will see a file that I made ages ago and finally uploaded to the group. It is called HS2_Pets.PDB. If you look at the way it is setup, it can easily be changed to work for your children.

Thanks for the recommendations for Contraction Timer. (I programmed it.) I just got my TG50, and I realize it looks really primitive on the high-res, color interface.
Besides which, it's moved; it's now at http://judebert.com/ for your downloading pleasure.
Hope everything ...er... came out all right. Congratulations!
