I have an NX70V that seem to be running fine. I went to the Sony website and I saw they have a system update pacth available. I am wondering if anybody has install it yet?

Does it have any effect on your NX-70V? I haven't install it yet, I want o hear from you that has install it.

Thanks

Yes, I did it when it first came out. Besides chewing up more of my precious RAM, I noticed absolutely no difference. Some have blamed flat tires, earthquakes, and a toothache on the upgrade.

What I've learned over the years is:

"If it anin't broke, don't fix it"

I think you'll be fine without it, unless you're experiencing some problems. ;)

I installed it and it crashes mine using the audio player more often then it normally did. I have removed the files since.

I have no hacks, and at the time, no launchers installed.

Ditto...I saw it, but didn't install it. My NX is running smooth, so I see no need to mess with it.

Well according to the Sony Website. . . .
The utility installs the latest system software and provides the following enhancements:
- Compatibility with external Memory Stick® Adapters for Memory Stick® media that was formatted with an PEG-NXxx device
- Improves low battery issues with the Communications Card
- Improves Communications Card recognition
- Improves ATRAC3™ Audio sound quality
- Improves power-up issues involving Memory Stick® media and the Communications Card.
- Improves MP3 playback for 96kbps encoded MP3 files

Sound tempting…….
I’d still stick to my guns though.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

With only a few exceptions, I have been less than impressed with updates from Sony. I won't install any more unless I am having a problem. I installed the update for the NR series and, until rl dunn and company on this site thankfully discovered the problem, my alarms didn't work right. NO MORE!
I suppose the exception is the new desktop.

I installed it with no issues...little bit less ram . . . but other than that...no worries.

So far.... my NX is working great, only one real crash after owning it for 4 months, so I agree...

If it ain't broke.... Don't fix with it.

I installed it so my NX60 OS would be "current." The major issue I had is with my third-party conduits. I had to reconfigure, and sometimes reinstall:

Splash Money
Documents to Go
Easy-Sync (for Lotus Organizer 98GS)
AvantGo

I was a good hour or or two of troubleshooting. In retrospect, I wish I had left well enough alone.

Perhaps I'll have less conflicts in the future, though, for keeping the OS current.

I have a UK/Euro NX70V, the update only seems to be for the US ver!

I agree, If it ain't broke don't fix it!
