Today, a very wierd battery event took place. I pulled the Clie out of the cradle and checked the battery. 100%, 56 cycles, 0 degradation.

From the main menu, I turned the camera on. As soon as it was up and running the battery dropped to 42%. I hadn't done anything. Didn't zoom, didn't take a picture, nothing.

Is this a battery problem [and I should replace the battery] or is it something else?

Thanks,

J W

use "search" function!

but just a quick note: it's very normal for NZ-90.

most people (on this forum at least) seem to be having the same problem.

Some people had luck with a brand new battery from Sony

Also, battery from laptopsforless.com doesn't have smart lithium technology, so you tend to use the battery for longer.

This is normal. The NZ uses juice to charge the capacitor circuitry for the flash when the Camera App is first opened. If you tap on the "flash" icon to force the flash "off", you'll get a lot more photos and better image quality, especially in low light situations unless the subject is very close, as the flash only has a range of about 6-7 feet.

The Smart Lithium technology is not exactly the best.

Do you actually "have" one of these batteries? If so, would you say that your overall experience with it has been positive, other than your prior comment?

Thanks,

Tony
