Just what can one do with the Bluetooth TG50; can you connect directly to a Wi-Fi network and surf the internet?
Trying to decide between waitoi on the TG or just get a NR & Wi-fi card. If I could just connect with Bluetooth and the TG I wouldn't mind the trade off in speed vs the extra cost for the NR & card.
Thanks

Actually, no, BlueTooth isn't a replacement for WiFi. BlueTooth is a wireless alternative to a USB cable, while WiFi is a wireless alternative to an ethernet cable.

Bluetooth can be used for Internet access, it just isn't as fast and the range is shorter.
Take a look at this tutorial:

my bad... i meant to mention that but i got too caught up in my dumb analogy.
Perhaps this is a better comparison: BlueTooth is designed for short, quick access whereas WiFi is meant for long-range, high-traffic access.

Actually, the answer to that question is YES! You can do this by getting a BT-to-wifi gateway like the Possio PX20 (http://www.expansys.us/product.asp?code=PX20&asource=) which can be found on expansys or blueunplugged. Its a very cool device but extremely pricey!
