View Full Version : Newbie!!!! Just Got A Nx60 Today

Hello everyone, i am a newbie to both cliesource and i just got a sony nx60 clie after much deliberation. I think it is a very nice pda and it has the best screen. This is my second pda with the first being the visor neo. Right now it is charging for the first time and i was wondering what software you would consider essential and also helpful hints on installing software programs and stuff like that and of course where to download such software from

Congrats on the new Clie and the best of luck with it and enjoy!

Your questions get asked very frequently, your best bet is to study the manuals and peruse the threads by searching. Believe me, it'll take awhile to get up to speed and may seem a bit overwhelming at first. Take your time and your experience will be more enjoyable. Heck, you'll be an expert in no time:)! BTW, with luck you can be as dangerous as I am...

This wasn't my first PDA but I still got frazzled from the switch. I eventually installed a couple of things I had used before (i.e. docs to go, ultrasoft money, and solitaire) and then sort of hung around and read a lot. Most of the things I have installed since (Atool, powerrun, zlauncher, billiards, rally5000, space trader, filez, etc.), I put on because of seeing them talked about on these boards. I've grown to have a pretty good confidence in the opinions of some of the senior members. Have fun with it!

I use the following aps:

Makemeacup: Great little utility which talks to my coffee machine and lets her know exactly what i want in the morning.

Ironmyclothes: This is a top program. It will allow you to place your Clie in a microwave so you can heat it up to 35deg (which is the required temperature for clothes) and then use it as an iron.

washmydish: this often overlooked program will allow your NX to become waterproof so you can then use it as a sponge to wash the dishes with. Think of all the money you will save !

the best of all:

nonag: install this fantastic piece of software into your NX. It will allow you to stop your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, partner etc from contiously nagging you on how many times you say the words "Its a Sony.......".

Was it really necessary to post 5 messages in a row? Anyways, PowerRun seems to be a favorite. Many people like that launcher app. Another program I think is pretty cool is called filez. This is a cool program. I thought I saw you registered somewhere, so no worries on that. You *will* get a lot more responses if you are registered thoug.
