View Full Version : External keyboard?

Sounds stupid, right?  An external keyboard for the TG-50.  But, I doubt I'll ever be able to achieve 40-50 WPM on the built-in keyboard, so there will be occasions when I will use an external keyboard.

I have an NR70 with all the add-ons.  From what I gather from Sony's HK website, the TG-50 connector is the same as the NR70 (and others).  Any thoughts as to whether I'll be able to use my collapsable keyboard on a TG-50?

I hate to say it, but in many ways I agree with Importluva. Sony modified the NX connector so it could output sound to the speaker cradle accessory, and did the same thing to the TG50. I'm afraid the modifications they made may have rendered the KB11 permanently useless with their OS5 models, until they release a "new" keyboard that is compatible this fall for $$$.

Bummer :mad:

I'll still get the TG50 anyway.  Frankly, I'm getting weary of Graffiti and all the replacements.

Looks like the KB11 folding keyboard will work with the TG-50.  Yahoo!!

The PEGA-KB11 is listed in SonyStyle as being compatible with the TG50.

WOOOHOOO! That makes me feel, oh, so very happy! It will look kinda odd with the TG50 fitting in the keyboard with it's keyboard but it's nice to know it works with it.

LOL, External Keyboard, TG50 plugged into it with it's keyboard, lid flipped open and sticking up. How conspicuous! Why oh why has Sony done this to us? The T-series is suppose to be the "executive" styled line, not the geeky nerd styled line.

I like the fact the TG50 has a lot of shiny buttons (pushes up taped up glasses). My actual wish is those buttons could be mapped in the ClieRMC program.

I'm new to using Clie's. I recently purchased a TG50, but it will not work with my KB11 eventhough the website says it's compatible. I get a message saying: "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again." Any suggestions? Any fixes or drivers?

Thanks

Weird (re immediately prior posting). Sony not only has the keyboard listed as compatible with the TG50, they're promoting it via a 25%-off deal (if you register and redeem coupon prior to 3/31). Coupon also applies to the speaker cradle, and a few other accessories-- about a half-dozen total.

{FYI: To get the coupon, which they email, you have to keep the check in the opt-in box at the end of the registration form. Read: use a mailbox you can get to, but easily escape later if it evolves into a spam storm. The link to the reg is in the "Clie FAQ", which typically shows up as a link on your desktop after installation.}

The keyboard (KB11) works for me on the tg50. Just download the newer drivers from the manufacturers website.
