My WL100 was working fine, then yesterday it stopped. When I try to connect I get a "device error" messgae on the Sony. The LED on the card does not even light. The only programs I used in the mean time was the MP3 player with the memory stick. I thought the card was bad to I returned it for an exchange but the new card does it as well. I tried a soft and a hard reboot (loading the wl utility again) but no luck. Any suggestions?

It happened to me on my NX60 and went to BBuy to replace it.. they did with no issue and I still could not get it to work; but at least it lit up... works now on my NZ... lesson: they do go bad, so try to return it and see...

Thanks all. I bought it direct from Sony (I was an early adopter) so I have to call them. It also is the gun metal gray version which isn;tmade anymore. It sucks as for the 2 days it did work, it was great. I doubt it's the card as I have tried 2 different ones. So it probably is the unit.

Sorry, I misread the post. Although one fellow went through 3 bad WL100 cards. I try to be careful in handling my unit, especially in the winter time here. Static discharge is very common with low humidty. The point being, it's possible to zap it, if touch the LAN card first. I always grab the grounded metal portion of my PC's case, after walking from another area to discharge myself. Some poo-poo this, but my ex-employer was very strict about it.

I tried the WL100 in a friends NX70 and it works just fine so....... off to Sony the NX70 goes. I will keep you informed. In the mean time my friend has my WL100 card to play with.

Update- I sent the unit in to Sony on Thursday, got it back today. Works great. Looks like they replaces 2 PCB in the unit. My suspicion is one for the CF slot and 1 main board. Card is back and running.

Thank you for the update, there is a user in the NZ forum who unplugged his and now the WL100 doesn't work. He doesn't get the validation beep, but does get it on the Ambicom modem.
