Has anyone bought a battery extender like this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3011009805&category=27968 ? Are they any good, and can they be trusted not to damage the Clie?

I have one. It won't hurt the clie cuz they have the charge shutoff thing in the battery (clie). It won't hurt it. Its a definite must if you have any of the higher end clies.

Importluva,

Thank you for the information. I know there is the automatic charge turnoff, but I was worried about the fit of the plug in the bottom of the Clie. I want one because I plan on picking up a TG50 or if I can ever get enough money the NZ90, and I want an emergency charger for "just in case" type situations at work and when traveling. When I traveled by train (Amtrak) to Houston, I didn't take my NR70V at the time because I did not have a travel charger.

I use it with my NZ, I got it to use with my NX. No problems so far... I have used it to both run and charge the NZ.

and so far it seems fine. I got it mostly for trips, but I like having it just in case too.

No problem T:)
Yea, I got mine cuz I'm in class all day, and sometimes inbetween classes (or during :D) I would watch things in Kinoma. I would start to get a lil low on battery when I was done wit classes, and when I would get on the bus, I wouldn't have enuff juice left to play my mp3's. This is where the charger comes into play.
