I have to say that personally, I find the skins without labeled buttons confusing... :-| Anyway, if people are looking for icons, there are tons of really good ones at www.kde-look.org . Most are GPL or LGPL licensed, though, which means that your skin must be appropriately licensed, and you must include "source code". It's not completely clear what "source code" for graphics is. I am assuming that layered Gimp/Photoshop files are source code, while the .bmp and .prc files that are generated are not.
There are also neat backgrounds and other things at kde-look.org.
And if you want to start making skins, my skin generator includes some layered files that are a nice starting point. (GPL licensed.)
