I have a HUGE book that's a family companion and you can look just about anything up in there. It's great, it can be really basic, but at the same time also extremly detailed and technicaly. Anyways, you can also look stuff up in there like say "coughing blood," and it will see X, Y, Z..

Basically I'm looking for the above on the palm. It would be really neat I think if there was an app that you entered in symptoms (kept entering in more and more) and queried out and less and less possible causes.

If someone can point me in the right direction, it'd be great, thanks.

Ok the book I have that I'm talking about is
The Cornell Illustrated Encyclopedia of Health

It's great and I love it, and I'm just looking for something as similiar to this in PDA format, thanks.

Maybe you should checkout Griffith's 5MCC (http://skyscape.com/EStore/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=484).

pdxmd.com requires you install a reader that's not supported with os5 =(

Still have to look at Griffith's 5MCC

speaking of internet sites for a similar solution, if you sign up for merckmedicus.com (which is free), they have a FREE thing called DXplain. You put in age, sex, time frame of symptoms, and it will give you a differential...

PDxMD looks interesting though. I have a tungsten so I can't try it, anyone else use it and like it?

After doing some searching I found that for some reason it's out of print :(
i used to use the paper version in med school. anyone tried the palm version? why isn't it available anymore?

Whoa!! PDxMD is freaking $150/yr for medstudents and $300/yr for physicians!  I could buy another PDA for that much money. I'm sorry but that is absolutely insane! You can buy the entire emedicine ebook library for $100 bucks even! Can someone please justify the cost/benefits of this app for me. I realize the benefits of EBM, but does the cost of PDxMD really outweigh a free EMB handbook that you could carry?

I finally got pdxMD for os5 and I like it a lot, except, I wish it was more in depth. They just don't have as many selections as I was hoping, and for that price, that's kinda ridicoulous. I'm still in the 30 day trial period. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for this. I downloaded the biggest database one they had too, 10 megs I think it was.

Is there anything like PDxMD in German for OS5?

I formerly used "Differentialdiagnosen Innere" but it is not compatible to OS5.

I installed pdxmd and the reader on my clienx70v, which has OS5. So the reader seems to be OS5 compatible now...

@nate

Thats exatcly what i think! The price is outstanding and not appropriate to the amount of information.
I am still looking for something equal or better, with reasonable price (and for me a german version would be what i like).
