View Full Version : Lost NX73 Install CD

I have a new work PC (Windows XP Pro) and I need to install the software for the NX73. I have discovered that I cannot just install Palm Desktop and perform a HotSync on the new PC. I was told by Sony customer support that I had to have the disk. Therein lies the problem, the disk is lost. I was told that I would need to buy a replacement disk, but they are on backorder at Sony and they won't be in for six to eight weeks. I really don't want to have to wait that long to use my Clie with the new PC. I asked if there was a way to download the required files from the Internet. Answer: No.
Does anyone know where I might be able to get a replacement disk besides Sony? Or, is there anyone willing to send me an installation disk for the Clie NX73? Please let me know. Thanks.

Any help here?
I've seen this question many time before on this forum. Perhaps if you use the search function you'll find a thread with a solution.

I searched for Install CD and found nothing of any help for the NX73. Any search ideas?

Use eDonkey or eMule to access eDonkey networks and search for "nx73". You will find a link to NX73-80V¼³Ä¡CD.zip.
I found a link to a ftp server hosting the cd image too. Will search for it an return to tell you... hope find it :)

Just go to:
ftp://clie:clie@netgodz.dynip.com/NX73_73V_80_80V.ISO
Or use an FTP client (this option is better if you don´t have broad bandwith!):
FTP: netgodz.dynip.com
LOGIN: clie
PASSWORD: clie
FILE: NX73_73V_80_80V.ISO

Thanks. I'll have to download it later due to its size (over 300MB). Is that an image of the disk? Is it a Roxio file? The file extension (.iso) is used by Roxio, but also by many other applications. What type of file is it?
Thanks again for your help.

The ISO format is compatible with every CD grabber. Enjoy. :)

Flogisto - Thanks for the assistance. It worked great! I really didn't want to wait 6 to 8 weeks for a disk from Sony. Actually it would have been longer than that. They expect to get them into their inventory in 6 to 8 weeks. It would take that plus shipping to me before I got it. And as any PDA owner knows, that's way too long to go without being able to HotSync!
Thanks again!

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat. I've tried the links above, and none of them work. Does anybody have a current link?
