What is best security software for palm os ?
-Some of my friends will sometimes try discovery almost everything what my th55 keeps inside, so i mean private things, so i want secure all my applications, data and etc...
Mu security details :
-I use two passwords
-I did secure all private memos and private datebook and etc...
-I did secure all software categories, so games and pda info softwares categories don't are secured because they are not private things
-and my th55 will go off after ten hours if i don't use it
So would be good if could secure zlauncher menu and i could encrypt data and secure my ms fully or is this already enought ?
Comments/softwares ???

ZLauncher lets you password protect tabs. It wasn't clear from your comments if you knew that.
I also use TealLock (http://tealpoint.com/softlock.htm), which is a very robust security application.

I have TealLock and I absolutely love it. The best part is customizing the lock screen, and the ability to encrypt data on the expansion card. The one thing that I don't like is that you can still pop-up the command stroke menu, but that's not a big deal
While the device is locked, you can also lockout the serial port and IR port, plus the buttons on the VG area can be disabled. You can also set a guest password, which hides all your records marked private
ZL can hide tabs too. What they don't see, they won't know.

You can encrypt data on MS transparently.

Use this one carefully.

Don't put your faith in the built in OS security - it's not really that solid, it'll only stop a passing attempt to read your data. I don't much trust the third party platform locking apps either.
Disk manager looks pretty nice but of course that means you'd not be able to read the MS elseware, even if you knew the password.
I would recommend encrypting data you want to protect using a specialised program - something that will actually encode the data in the pdb file using the password you provide. I use STRIP for all my stuff I need to secure but there's quite a few out there.

I love STRIP, but I wish that it had a desktop and 320x480 support.

I agree with most of the other guys posts,
zl with hidden and password protected tabs and teallock moved into flash,
if you use the password protection in zl then even to exit zl a password must be entered so someone cant just exit and look at the all category.

I have seen a lot of threads dealing with pdf conversions and formats for palms. Picsel viewer can handle native pdf I believe, I've never had a device that had Picsel Viewer, but I have been interested in it.
I have taken a pdf file and
select all
Paste into word
Now it's a mess.
Load it into WordSmith on my palm
Reflow the paragraphs.
Reflow in WordSmith removes all of those nasty line breaks.
Another option would be to spend $50 on PDF Converter, which is a desktop utility that converts PDF to Word, Word to PDF. I don't know if this available for mac, but I can't imagine that someone has not made something comporible for the Mac world. This ARTICLE (http://www.jimthompson.net/palmpda/iSilo/isilo.htm) on iSilo conversions has some useful tips on how to quickly remove and change tags that obstruct documents. I think that he even directly address cleaning up an Adobe "paste" into a word processor.
I'm ready for an easy to use, fast, functional and effective Adobe option on a palm, or my PC for that matter. Adobe reader is slow on my palm and my PC.

I'll pitch in my vote for TealLock as well. It has more features/capabilities than I need/use, so it should do all you are seeking for in a security application. ;)

I hope it will be scarce in my life that I feel as stupid as I do right now. Earlier this evening I wrote this post after reading another thread. I think I had too many browser windows open and doing too many things at once. :o
And as for the subject at hand...I wish that the security features on the Zire72 would work as advertised. I would have some real nice security features on my device if the Z72 didn't have inoperable bugs in the security preferences. It is a problem with all Z72's. If you set a timed delay for activating security, then your device will freeze, and if not addressed with a reset, you will lose all of your data when your battery drains. Oh well.

Pdaman,
Looks like you're talking "apples and oranges" here. Most of the comments to your query assume a device security application, not a password security application!

If its files you want to protect have you tried mEncryptor http://www.toysoft.ca/mencryptor.html ? It places passwords on file or folders and if the file is on your MS you still cant access the files from you PC as they remain encrypted (I have found some apps code the files on your handheld but you PC can still open them).
You can also try Resco Explorer which has a Zip/unzip function built in with passwords.

Does this mean that you are using STRIP, or are you simply placing a link?
I use TealLock & SplashID on my T3.

Why can't you download it. It should be available at Palmgear. If not, then try here:

They are the developer.

-i did try teallock, but i did discovery some problems when using wlan...
-i did also try pdasecure, and it was easy to easy and no effect to wlan...
-i did try pdadefense what did was best (like 512bit security and card protection and other nice things), but i did discovery it too slow with my th55...
So now i use pdasecure (128bit) and pdabomb and usual palm security (64bit) and zlauncher category security !
I will check that strip after this message...
Thanks for security softwares...

Have you tried Bluekey? Unlocking via bluetooth is faster and easier than normal password methods. You don't even have to take out your stylus. Each unlock takes about 3 secs or less depending on the device you are connecting to. You can get the program from:
