Alrighty, I got my NZ90, and it kicks butt! It's my 3rd PDA and my 2nd Clie.
I'm new here so I'll intorduce myself quickly.
I'm In Seattle and Work for Verizon Wireless. I am always on the lookout for new toys.
My new passion is bluetooth I am soaking up anything I can learn/buy that has this capibility. It's cheap, it's easy and it connects! What more do ya need?
ANYWAY... I have connected the NZ to everything via Bluetooth, it talks to my phone, for an internet connection, damn slow but works for what I will use it for.
It hotsyncs just fine via BT
And I found a way around that lame Copy protection crap in the sony software for MP3's. And it's SOOO much easer than using their software.
BUT I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the skins on the interface, this Silk thing has me ALL confused. Is there detailed instructions smewhere?
I Use the Megalauncher, IMHO the best launcher for Palms. and I can swap skins in that fine.
Any help would be great.

Gdarel -
I'll answer your question if you answer mine...::GRIN::
First - do a search across this entire board for WONDERSILK...this app and its associated skins are incredible.
Additionally, look for PHOTOSKIN and you can simply just replace the background of your grafitti area.
Now for an answer to my question...::SMILE::
Are you actually using Verizon for your service? I am so disappointed they still don't have an over the counter bluetooth phone available...

I will put out a new post for this.... please look under the NZ area for this....... this will be for SILK and the VIRTUAL-GRAFFITI.
There will be links for downloads... and skins you can get to replace your graffiti.

Maybe AT&T Wireless is the best answer for BlueTooth Phones. There are multiple 3g Phones out by AT&T Wireless... *Employee GRIN*

Yeah but, that thing your phones do....like drop calls makes the whole thing moot <g> :D
But as an Analyst I am no postiion to debate the different services. The only experance with AT&T's service is when I had it myself. I could count on loseing service in many places that you would think service would actually the best. ::shrug::
Actually I am kind of disapointed that we do not have more Bluetooth phones, but I think that as it catches on we will provide more.
I am confused by Icemans post....

Yes I am with Verizon, the employee price plan make it worth my while to connect in this way. $5 a month for 1000 min and no long diatance, hell why not hehehe
The first and only phone, we have that is capable of Bluetooth is the Motorola 270c, it does require that an adaptor be purchaced to enable the Bluetooth.
This is where AT&T has the upper hand, they have a better choice of bluetooth enabled phones available. BUT I stand by my comment that Verizon does have better coverage and Network support. It's pretty hard to find an area where you will consistantly drop calls on Verizon.
The best way to get us to carry a better Bluetooth phone, is call. Tell them your story, and explain what Bluetooth means to a customer. If they hear from enough customers, and it really would not take too many calls they will make more phones available.

yeah - I've been solid with Verizon for several years...while disappointed with no bluetooth, my travelling requires me to have solid connectivity and real world proved Verizon better for me.
I just upgraded to a moto 720, with express network...so I link my laptop up to the 720, ics the connection and then bluetooth into the laptop ::SMIRK::
Of course, I've got a serial cable to go from my nz90 to my 720 for when I don't want to bother with the laptop...it at least lets me wap and email...

Yup that works... but damn thats a lot of cables to pack around.
THis might be a tease, and I don't intend it to be that way but with the 270c all I need is a dial up connection.... It connects at 14.4 but that is a bottleneck with the phone not the network. The 270c can still be purchaced via the MOtorola site but I wouldnt reccomend spending that much money, I have no doubt that we will carry BT phones but I don't know when.
So I throw the phone in the bag, and as long at it's within about 20 feet I can connect fine.
Unless..... you know the Username and Pasword for Mobile web <g> .... they should all be thae same beacuse the system won't let a phone that does not have mobile web cnnect. It's autheerized by the phone not the pasword/Username. That shows you how techical *I* am bout our Cellular network hehe
I know the phone number from a Verizon phone is #777 but that is as far as I have gotten. If I coould connect to that network I could dump Earthlink... it drives me nuts that I have cable at home, all this techno crap and I STILL have to have a dial up account.

BUT...
If we could find a Type I wireless aircard that would work in the CF slot that would make the NZ just about perfect.
If anyone knows of one that works on the CDMA network please lemme know. Since I can try it out without being tied to a contract or spending too much on service I will be happy to give it a shot

I don't know if this is goog or bad.... but I sent an e-mail to one of the big Sales Mangers asking why every other company but our offers a nice line of bluetooth capible phones.
I got a reply from the President of Sales for the entire West area, He forwarded my question on to the Marketing Manager for Verizon.
I have been on a few projects that have gained a lot of "attetion", now it seems when I ask a question it goes right to the top.
***************************************************
Edited to add.... I just want ya'll to know I am not "representing Verizon in any way, I am not sales or Customer Service.
I am only "slightly" more informed than an expearanced long time customer. Yes I do work for Verizon But my position is not one where I am fully informed about anything that could benifit a customer.
I have no interest whatsoever of trying to Sell or have people move from from provider to another.
Ok with that said I feel better :-)

What about Sprint PCS? They have NO bluetooth phones whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I called one of the local stores here and the salesgirl didn't even know what I was talking about. When is Sprint going to get some nice bluetooth phones. Sony/Ericsson is coming out with a nice T600! Come on Sprint, get with the times!
