I just recently picked up a Tapwave Zodiac 2, and I love it. It is only slightly larger than my current Sony Clie TG50, and is compatible with a large quantity of my games and programs. I have two questions about the Zodiac, and one of them could be a technical problem.

The problem I seem to be having is occaisonally the screen seems to flicker/pulsate. It only comes and goes, so I can live with it as long as it isn't a major problem. Does anyone else have this problem, or has heard of it?

My other question/dilema I have relates to my TG50. The TG50 comes with an awesome, but awkward, program called Piscel Viewer that allows you to view JPG, GIF, TIFF & BMP images along with PDF and Office documents. Does anyone here know of a similar program or programs that work well on the Zodiac? I do not mind having multiple programs, as long as the entire package/suite is affordable.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I recently bought a Zod2 also, and I haven't encountered any screen issues.
As far as an app like picsel viewer (I liked it on my Clies, too), the one that comes closest in my opinion is RepliGo (http://www.cerience.com/). You can get the desktop conduit as well as the handheld version. You can convert almost any type of file, be it text or picture, etc., and you can view it on your Zodiac.
I haven't gotten it for my Zod yet, but I've heard others talk of it's usefulness.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip. I will look into RepliGo, but I'd prefer not having to convert files. One thing I loved about Piscel Viewer was I could load images directly onto a Memory Stick, then view them in the program.

As for my screen problems, I think I'll keep my current Zod unless it has major problems. It is only minor anyway. I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else had a similar problem.

If your screen is flickering, even just occasionally, I would be worried. That definitely sounds like a hardware defect and it's only likely to get worse. I would recommend you return it or deal with Tapwave support to get it replaced.

I think it could just be me and my sensitive eyes. I have very good, sharp, vision and I'm able to see or detect certain things other people may not see. I've given it to some other people when I thought it was flickering, and they couldn't see a thing. I'm not too worried about it because it rarely happens and probably more than coincidentally happens more when I'm tired. If it should be more of an issue, I'll just get it replaced. I did buy the 1 year warranty through CompUSA, and I'm still within the 30 day time frame as well.
