I purchased my PEG-UX50 in november in hopes of connecting it to the wireless LAN at my university, but have failed everytime, it connects but gets locked up at a blank screen that attempts to download the page if i choose not to save, i get page cannot be found. A tech at sony says that it is because I am attempting to connect to a VPN, and Netfont cannot do so. He suggests loading a new browser app. can someone assist me?

well, thats sony's tech ;)
i suggest you to get mergic vpn (http://www.mergic.com/) software, if you need to connect to a vpn server. it's got nothing to do with your browser.

You may need a user ID/passwword.
If it is VPN, try these (note you may need to know exactly which VPN host is running)
Certicom http://certicom.com/index.php?action=product,mvpn
Mergic http://www.mergic.com/
SafeNet http://safenet-inc.com/products/wireless/softremotepda.asp

I just got my Clie TJ37 about 1 week ago. I have a wireless home network setup with a linksys router. What I've been wanting to do is establish a VPN connection so I can access the files on my computer. So I've read up on some forums and found out I can do so by downloading Mergic VPN. Then in order to access my shared files I can use this program called WiFile. Well I'm not too good with this networking stuff and for some reason I can only establish a VPN connection when I'm inside my house. When my Clie connects through any another wireless network, it can' t find my computer. Can anyone help me connect to my computer through VPN? I'm not sure whether I put in the router IP address or the IP address the linksys adapter gives to my computer? I disabled the firewall on my router, but how does a VPN connection get past the router into the the computer I want to establish a connection with? All I want to do is access my shared files when I'm at school. Can someone please help me?

Wifile should work automatically upon installation. You have to have shared files set on your computer. Click the networking tab and creat a work group. It didnt work for me until i named the connection name in wifile the name of my Hotsync name (Maybe thats just me) . The Ip u use is the same Ip that is used by you computer..

I know Wifile works, but the thing is, it only works when I'm logged on with my wireless home network. Is there anyway I can establish a VPN when I'm not logged on to my wireless network. For example, all my computers with wireless adapters have the IP address 192.168.1.10X X being any number 1-10. That's not my router's IP address though. So how would I get past the router into my computer. I tried connecting from my friends wireless connection and using the same setting I used to establish a VPN at my house, but I can't connect to my computer. How do I adjust the settings to establish a VPN to my computer?
