Does anyone with a TJ27 have experience using it for taking notes in class. I would love to the use outline feature in Documents To Go for that. Then I could just go home, sync and open the files in Word. That would be great.
Issue:
Battery Life: My battery seems fine for my checking phone numbers, jotting notes, reading a brief article in Avantgo. But when I use it for something more intensive like reading a long article in Documents To Go the battery seems to fade quickly. If I think about having it on for 45 minutes at a time, maybe 5 times a day I think that may be a problem. What do you think?

Regarding the battery life, you are probably going to get between 4-5 hours of runtime before your machine goes down. This is, of course, with the backlight all the way down. If you can shut if off in a room with good lighting, that would help as well. Also, make sure that you have beam receive off.
For note taking, DTG would work fine. If you like graphic organizers you could try "ideapad"... comes with a conduit to sync them to the desktop.
Due Yesterday is a good homework reminder app as well.
My friend and I have been using Clies to take notes in class for the last two year. Docs To Go Word is definitely your best option as far as that goes. When I did this, I used a Clie PEG S360 and would sit in the back of the class or close to a wall where there was an outlet and just plug in the Clie. If you're in a room where you can’t get access to an outlet, just use your battery temporarily. I just bought a TJ-37 and can’t wait to use it for note taking.
Im registered as NS-5 but 1src isnt letting me log in
Don't even try to use your CLIE with the backlight off unless your in direct sunlight or your battery is running extremely low. You'll just waste your time.
I'm sticking to handwritten class notes. I'm not too good with Graffiti 2 and Documa isn't helping much either. If I had a keyboard, I would consider it but good mobile keyboards go for over $30. I would appreciate it if someone can find me something cheaper thats compatable with the TJ series :)

If battery time is an issue for you, buy a battery extender. I recently bought one identical to Sony's off of ebay for $14.50 USD. Since then, I've never had any problems with battery life. As soon as my battery reaches below 30%, which usually takes about 3 days' use for me, i plug in the battery adapter and charge the internal battery of my clie. The best part is you don't have to use it as a charger, you can also use the extender as an external energy source. So in your case, webmanoffesto, you can use the extender as an external source while taking notes. If you as me, it's well worth the $15.

Are you sure you didn't get ripped off? Those things go for $5 maybe more on eBay. I don't like the idea of charging off of NiCD/NiMH batteries. It's not the same as raw ground electricity. There is a Lithium power pack similiar to THIS ONE (http://www.sunnbattery.com/item.html?UCIDs=559844%7C1115613&PRID=1333800) with a Sony adapter for PDA's but I lost the site (although it was for some previous models, it should have worked with the newer ones).
Edit: Found it. Only works for NX60, NR70, NV70, T400, T415, T425, T600C, T615C, T625C, T650C, T665C, NR70, NR70V, SL10, SJ20 and SJ30 series. Oh well...

Actually, the battery was only $7 on eBay. But I didn't feel like waiting for the stupid bid to end, so I spent a whole dollar more just to "Buy Now". Then you gotta slap on the shipping costs and optional insurance. In the end, it sums up to be about $15. Considering that the exact same product made by Sony sells for around $40, I'd say I got a pretty good deal.

I am going to use my tj-37 to take notes in class this fall. Luckily most of them are business classes so maybe not TOO heavy of notes. What type of keyboards are everyone using? I want to use a USB roll up keyboard. need drivers though, anyone know of any?

For keyboards, I use the Belkin Wireless keyboard... Compatible with my TJ27, m500 and any other Palms I may be inclined to buy...

I have had every clie starting with the s360 up to the tj37 and have used them all in school for notes and noticed that i had to use it mostly with the backlight off or i wouldent even make it to my next class so i started to design batterypacks that would work ya you can buy the sony battery extender and plug it on but i wanted to design my own. visit my site and check out this simple mod. soon it will have a port for connection to keyboard but for now i have just used random batterys and got up to 3.7 hours of music playback with the backlight on the whole time. shure beats the origonal tj37's 45 min battery life.try also some of those batery hacks they will lengthen the battery life by slowing the cpu and backlight power usage.
