View Full Version : Digitizer not consistent

I just noticed a strange problem on my T3.
The digitizer is aligned perfectly along the top of the screen. The further you go towards the bottom, the more it is misaligned. In the DIA the actual writing is about 1 millimeter from where the stylus touches.
This problem exists even after a hard reset with nothing installed (tested with notepad).
Anyone heard of a simple solution or should I go to a lab to fix it?
Thanks

Welcome to palm. There is no solution. PalmOne advise to hardreset (what is, you noticed, is useless).

Try this program to adjust the digitizer.
http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/digie.shtml
It worked for me. The accuracy is way better now.
Adjust the digitizer while the VG is lowered.
Delete the program once you used it (or move it to the SD-card). I remember that there was some strange behavior while it was in the RAM.

Thanks Rolibo. DigiE solved my problem !!! :)
After HR the problem returns. I guess I'll have to have it fixed after all. :(

i messsed with this same problem from about 15 days after i bought my palm T3 back in october when they came out. problem got worse and worse and got worse the further down the screen i went until the bottom part of the screen (where the status bar is) was unuaable.
the rom replacement that came out in november seemed to have made things worse, but probably not related.
after a lot of software download "fixes" which didn't work -- i finally called palm and explained the problem (i still have the thread i sent)
they emailed me back -- said that it was a flawed palm and i did an advance exchange for a new one.
was surprised palm was so accomodating, but the one i got in december has been great -- if you have HR, you have to have an accurate digitizer.
the software fixes have never worked for me. -- i think the flaw is in how the t3 slider registers with the screen -- somehow they get out of whack and no way to compensate that i've found
get it replaced before the warranty is up.

Has anybody tried to get their T3 digitizer issue fixed through Best Buy PSP. I have about 4 months left on my current PSP. Originally it was for my T665 and when it gave up they told me to just exchange, so I got the T3 back in October. I asked to buy another PSP but they said it carries over. I hope this is true so I can get it fixed. If not it stil has just about two months left on Palm warranty.

The Best Buy by me is not carrying any high end PDA's anymore.
They told me that they were scaling back.
Hope the BB by you still has the T3.

I don't really want to exchange it, just want it fixed. Don't want to send it to palmOne for some refurb. The BB here isn't carrying anymore either. If they do just want to exchange or give store credit I will insist on ordering new one on their web page.

Well all I can say is that I owned a NX80v, and it went down.
I thought that I was lucky because I had the warranty for 4 years on it.
Well they took it and sent it to there tech repair center ........................................................................
WEEKS passed and WEEKS, went by, and finally, I got a call that they felt the cost of the repair did not warrant it being fixed.
This answer surprised me and well I liked my NX80..
They did offer me a full refund with store credits.
Now they also took all my accessories back and gave me what I paid for them in store credit.
When all was said and done I got $1198.00.
Not bad since the PSP started with a NR70 which is 4 generation back...
Now this was after Sony declaired that they no longer were going to be players in the US PDA market.
Good Luck!
