I have an NX 80, have installled Aeroplayer and get a repeated error message on startup when trying to play anything (sys0505) (0,115)
Anyone with a clue as to what this is ? Or can you point me in the right direction to check into ?
Thanks,
Doug ;)
same here! seems aeroplayer is not compatible with the 5.0 OS! maybe only 5.1 or .2

Did you install MCA2? Only UX and TH can install 3rd-party multi-media programs w/o using MCA2.
Pls make some searches...

Installed MCA2 and it seems to work okay. A bit choppy when the song starts... Have to see if it will play the mp3 files I'm interested in playing. The Sony player balked, reporting that they were copy protected or something. (they are not) Also wouldn't play from sub directories...

I use Pocket Tunes which much more stable than Aeroplayer on my NX73.

I found the following on the Aeroplayer Yahoo Group after 5.0b1 was released. Although the message did not say what Sony products would be supported, it does give one hope:

Glad to hear it works!
We don't test against their MCA library, but we'll have native support
for Sony devices soon -- probably in 5.0, but it may slip to 5.1.

If you read old posts in 1src (especially for thread of MCA2), you should know AeroPlayer, PocketTunes both can work in NX/NZ/TG after MCA2 installed (many users in here already tested that).
dms911:
Try to not use "Enable background play" in both player. Only enable this option in only 1 player in 1 time.
Also, try not to encode the MP3's/OGG's with settings to low. AeroPlayer supports only 92KB's at 32KHz I believe (haven't used AP in a while), anything below that gets choppy.

Jackho:
Thanks for the info, I have been using MCA with Aeroplayer. It worked really well with 2.11, and seems to work well with the 5 betas. And as you stated, it also works very well with PT.
Liked how you stated looking at old posts, I would have been lost when I first joined here without doing some searches on problems I was having. Would have probably NEVER found MCA without searching (and missed out on running lots of programs without that program including finding the programs to replace built-ins to use CF card.)
However, I was posting that message as it seems as though the AP people are looking at creating a version to support Sony natively without having to use MCA (unless I am reading that post incorrectly!) If that happens....that may be the player I put my money on.
TJ37:
Thanks for the info on encoding. Currently, I am using CDex to do my encoding, I try to encode Oggs around 92kbps and I experience pretty good quality while keeping files smaller.

In new Clies (TH/ UX/ TJ) are using PalmOS's API for audio, doesn't like old Clies (NX/NZ/TG) are using Clie-specific API. So that's the reason why MCA was out (Thx CliePet). For newer Clies, MCA is not required.

Right, I understand the difference between the OS versions and why we need MCA on our NX's. But glad you posted info, others can benefit from it.
I emailed the support group at Aerodrome asking about Sony Clie native support (NX/NZ/TG) for Aeroplayer (based on their initial post on Yahoo). Their reply is below:
"We're still undecided on the issue. It's seeming less and less
necessary since MCA has moved from a developer option to a software
add-in. Since it seems to work just fine the way it is, it doesn't
seem
like there's much point in doing it within AeroPlayer.
Best regards,
Aerodrome Support"
