Hey everyone, long time visitor of the site...a great resource when I had my T665. I just upgraded to the TH55 and there are a few minor things bugging me that I'm wondering if they can be fixed. I've talked to fellow TH55 users and they're equally as stumped.
1) Taking photos for my address book....when saved onto the handheld, is there any way to change the file name (other than the generic "DSC0001.jpg")?
2) Encoding Quicktime Movie trailers....any new trailers I encode through Image Converter don't have any sound on playback. Also, I cannot jump to any point in the video...trying to do so only restarts the entire thing.
3) New MIDI/Polyphonic Sounds...I bought a library of Clie Sounds for my T665 but when I transfer them onto the TH55 they play back a bit garbled.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks!
1. Yes. Many ways to do it. One way is by:
a. Tap the blue MS icon in status bar.
b. Tap File Mgr button
c. Tap the MS tab.
d. Tap 100MSDCF folder (or whatever the folder name)
e. Put a check on the image.
f. Tap Menu.
g. Tap Rename
h. Type new name
i. Tap OK
I let others answer the rest.

1) Taking photos for my address book....when saved onto the handheld, is there any way to change the file name (other than the generic "DSC0001.jpg")?There isn't a way to have it initially save the file as something other than DSC****.jpg, but you can easily rename the file afterwards with any file manager (except ClieFiles... it doesn't seem to show in there) or an Image Viewer like AcidImage (rename option)
Edit: I recommend either McFile (ClieFiles is a McFile wannabe) or FileZ.
2) Encoding Quicktime Movie trailers....any new trailers I encode through Image Converter don't have any sound on playback. Also, I cannot jump to any point in the video...trying to do so only restarts the entire thing.Try converting the video file to .mpg .....<edit>..... first, then convert with Image Converter. (there are plenty of threads on this... do a search)
3) New MIDI/Polyphonic Sounds...I bought a library of Clie Sounds for my T665 but when I transfer them onto the TH55 they play back a bit garbled. The TH55 doesn't have a MIDI chip like the T665 does, so it doesn't play midi... because it uses the PalmOS Audio API. My TG50 has better sound now because it can do both Sony Audio incl. MIDI and Palm Audio with MCA2 by CliePet.

Thanks Dan - that works great with photos on my MS...but the ones I take for my address book are saved on the handheld itself (I find it better since I switch up MS often)...and I can't seem to find any way to access them through file manager.

Thanks Enderenya - I just read your post after I replied to DanT. That really clears up a lot. I'll try converting those QTs to MPEG first. Appreciate the help!
Cheers.

Are you trying to convert quicktime files to a different file type? Quicktime can covert quicktime files to other file types. It's in one of the menus.

I'm trying to convert the QT files to the MQV format that the TH55 uses. I've been using Image Converter to do this....and it has worked for any MPEG files and some QT....it's only movie trailers for any of the movie trailers off the Apple site (apple.com/trailers) that I'm having trouble with.

Gotcha. I must have still been sleeping. It's too early in the morning for me to catch that handheld word. In most cases I use MS anyway to save precious RAM space and always remember people faces. Just their names that I'm having trouble with.

I guess those apple trailes are protected or something, when I try to convert them to mqv I get the file but without sound.
