And I thought not getting the promised software link by email was bad ...suddenly a crack appears on the digitizer of my two week old tj27, no writing possible. Anyway, is there a chance that the TJ-25/35 glasstop (which pdaparts has) will work in a TJ-27/37? Anyone certain that it WONT? I'm desperate, and can't shell out 130 clams and two weeks of wait to SONY (I won this in a drawing, so cant return to the store).
Why cant you return it, even if you won it, it still has a warrenty

Yeah, all registered Clie's have a year warranty (i think, or was it 90 days?). Well anyways, if you've registered the Clie, you still have a warranty with Sony. They may slap on a shipping bill like all companies do, but i think the replacement of cracked screens fall under parts and labour covered by the warranty. It wouldn't hurt to call them and ask, and give it a try.

No, not really. You have to register the CLIE for the 1 year warranty. You have 90 days to register and 90 days of coverage if you choose not to register. I dunno... It should be possible, but you must know what your doing or else, you'll screw yourself deeper than you want. The TJ25 and 27 are pretty similar, but the problem is if it'll fit right and if the cables and such are right as well. Do you have the original receipt? If you do, you can just return and say it came in the box like that and return it. I suggest you let Sony handle this, make sure you take a lot of clear pictures of your CLIE before sending it though, Sony has a bad rep. of taking care of other peoples property.

I agree with TJ37. But the problem is I don't think that Ramstone has a recepit, do you? Because you said that you won the TJ27 as a prize, so I doubt that they'd give you the receipt along with the box...
Yeah... Your only options at this point are:
1. Risk loosing $130 and go for the screen to do it yourself.
2. Send it over to Sony for repairs and pay Sony the fees for a job you know is going to turn out right. (Warranty does not cover screens)
Note: Again, Sony has a habit of destroying property, so something else may look different when you receive it.
