Okay. So you know how PalmOne's T3 update has you check the ROM date on your handheld by opening a new memo, drawing (all on the number side of the screen) the shortcut symbol, followed by a quick period and the number 9?
I accidently typed shortcut, period, 3 and got an entirely different date. Then I thought . . .
I wonder what you get from shortcut, period, and the other digits?
So here's the list, and what each digit returned:
0 - nothing happens
1 - T3 locks completely up; must do a soft reset (ouch! you play with fire...)
2 - Nothing happens
3 - "[no auto off]"
4 - "[steve 1648]" steve is my user name; no idea what the number is
5 - nothing happens
6 - "[9/3/03 10:28 am]" This is the one I mistook for my ROM date
7 - "[lithium ion]" Must be battery type
8 - Nothing happens
9 - Yep. The ROM date that started it all
I imagine this is old news to many. It makes me curious, though. I wonder what other little back-room shortcuts are built in?
