The short answer is...a japanese video game had a very poorly translated opening movie. The lines somehow became immensely popular among computer nerds everywhere.

Hey, My name is Tim, and I Recently found the Japanese version of Zero Wing, so I descided to Translate what the text Originally said, just to make things interesting. So I was looking aroundhere and saw this topic, so here is the translation I came up with... Maby the newest internet catchphrase will now be "With the cooperation of the federal government forces, CATS has recieved all of your bases."

In any case, at the top is the text from the English game that everyone is familiar with, then the corresponding text from the Japanese, and then a literal translation of what is actually said...

CAPTAIN: IT'S YOU!!

CATS: HOW ARE YOU GENTLEMEN!!
