memory stick

I am in the process of buying a memory stick for my TH55 but I have noticed that there a serval types out there. can somebody explain what the differences are between if any.

What is:

Memory stick pro
Memory stick PRO.
Memory stick Magic gate

I have also heard that there are two types of memory stick one for data and one for music.

The 'music' ones are the MagicGate MemorySticks -- if you stick to using Sony's applications and the (in)famous ATRAC format...
