hi, i am new to clie's, but i have been following cliesource for ages, and like to think i know quite a bit, so here goes. (btw, i have a nx73, but i think the same things apply)
i think you will have to rename your file MOV00001 when you want to play it on movie player, but, you could download a patch that allows to to play mpeg videos, as far as i know.
as for the image converter, i am not sure, i don't have much experience with it, but i have converted a 75meg file, and in came out as a 28meg file at the end, and was fine, sound and video in sync. you could try downloaded MMplayer, it play natural mpeg etc. even divx, no personal experience again though, try the free trial at palmgear.com.
ah, try this. put it in this folder on the memory stick:
MQ_Root\100MQV01\"call the file MOV00001"
i believe that will work, i have done my best, but i think you will most likely need the help form the seniors, ie. egalus, mier87 etc. they know more or less anything, and one more thing, i would recommend search, it very rarely fails me on this site, as there is such a wealth of information.
hope i was of assistance, Dan

i downloaded the mm player and it works, but it is very slow and it says that the size is to big and some thing is wrong with the sound. it still works tho, but i want to play this on a movie player which is way better, i would still like to know how to put this video file on the sony clie movie player so it looks better. help!

try this website, download the two links at the bottom that are:
audioplayer 3.1 (updated, with SonyMMUtilLib.prc) and Movieplayer 1.1
http://uk.geocities.com/mattyj2003@btinternet.com/
save the two to the same folder (create one) and then click on the two install files, and install them to directories, make sure you can remember where they are, and then put the audioplayer - palm application and SonyMMUtilLib - palm application and also the movieplayerEN - palm application files on the clie via hotsync, theoretically you should be able to play your MPEG file in Movieplayer, try putting it in the movie folder and renaming it etc. if it doesnt work straight off, and now you can play movies and music from a compact flash card aswell ;-)
again, i hope i was of assistance, Dan
Just a shot, but when you renamed the file and tried to open it, did you select MPEG format???

Try taking a picture with the camera, and then putting the MPEG where the JPEG goes (dcim or something)
Try taking a movie with the camera, and putting the MPEG where the MOV goes (/MQROOT or something)
Rename it MOV000001.MPG or MOV000001.MPEG (try both, in both locations)
Select MPEG on the Movie Player
(Sorry for the long list, but I have done this once, and forgot which one worked for me...)

Go to clie files or filez
Navagate to the file
Make it the only checked file
In clie files, click menu rename, type name, click ok
In filez, click details, type name, click save

If your trying to play the MPEG file directly, not only does it need to be named MOV00001.MPG, but it needs to go in the /MSSONY/MOML0001/ folder. That folder probably doesn't exists, so you would need to create it.
/MQ_ROOT/100MQV01/ will only work for MQV format files.

OK, where do you make this file. Under the "Palm" folder, the "Launcher" Folder, under the "palm/programs" file. Which one exactly?

Those folders go on the root of the card

That did not work. I still cannot pull up the mpeg file on Movie Player version 1.1. Does it matter that 1. The file is on the memory stick and not the handheld 2. I have a Sony Clie NX80V and 3. Movie Player version 1.1 is on the memory stick and not the handheld
