Hey everybody! I posted this on PDArcade and they suggested I ask over here, so here goes nothing...

I currently have a Palm T|C and would like to expand its memory by getting a memory card (SD, I think is what it takes, but I haven't looked).

Can I use any old brand of SD card, or do they need to be "formatted"? Are there certain brands/models of SD cards that have notoriously caused problems for other Palm users?

Also, I have a bunch of games on my Palm right now, including
Gamebox Asia
Gamebox Solitaire
Bike or Die
Kikoo Breakout
Ches Tiger
MicroRacer
Snails
Beik's TipTap
Vexed
Legacy

Can I run these games from the card, or are there certain games that need to be run from the main device? I also know I've heard of software that makes it so applications run more smoothly from a media card. Any recommendations?

I plan on having this T|C until the rechargable battery no longer holds a charge, at which point I'll switch to a PPC...could I (in theory) use the memory card I buy for the PPC, deleting the files related to the Palm apps?

Of course, I may get a PPC before then, anyway, I'm itching to play some multiplayer online snails. http://www.pdarcade.com/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance for any help you guys and gals can offer. http://www.pdarcade.com/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Get a Panasonic SD card, the biggest that you can afford. There are cheaper cards, some much cheaper, but they are way slower in writing data. There's a whole thread on here somewhere about SD card speeds, and I have a review of the Panasonic and PNY (Toshiba) cards on PDABuyersGuide that also has speed data and links to more. Avoid Sandisk. They've had spotty reliability in the SD card product line.
