Don't see this going on enough and I think I should.
Got a Clie NX70 just a few days ago, spent quite a few hours reading this forum, posted one question, learned a lot!
ZLauncher, JackFlash, SplashID, CFUtility, QuickOffice, programs I have learned about in here and did not knew even existed, made my first Clie experience a lot more then I would have expected, and the gamessss ohhh the gamessss !
Like for example I had no idea that extra slot on the Clie was a CF slot, lol, me being into digital photography and with about a dozen CF cards laying around promptly popped a 256Mb in my Clie, again, reading in here from posters who share, I very quickly got all the software I needed to get it running as a storage for apps/files and such!
Also, had a bad crash today, (warning??) I installed Symantec antivirus for PDA, when I clicked scan all was gone, just like a hard reset!! But again, from reading here I had been cautious to makes an exhaustive backups of my Clie, in 5 minutes it was all back!
So, thank you very much to all who post here and take time to answer question, even those already asked, it is very pleasant to find a friendly community when that seems to become rare and "cliks" spoil so many places.
Thank you all
JC
PS:
Being a "n00b" not sure this program has been mentioned, but I have not seen it in here and with some many using external memory to files and programs , will just mentioned this program I found. Hope it might be useful or intersting to some of you.
It is called PiDirect (www.pitech.com) and the introduction in the "read me" file is as follow:
"There are a variety of memory cards (e.g. CompactFlash, SmartMedia, Secure Digital (SD), MultiMedia Memory Card (MMC), Memory Stick (MS), etc.) available for different handheld devices. These memory cards are similar to a diskette in that they are an external storage media. As such, the data and/or programs stored on them must be transferred into DRAM on the handheld prior to use.
The purpose of PiDirect is to enhance the use of these memory cards. This is done by providing a way for read-only programs and data that are stored on these cards to be used without the need to transfer the complete program and/or data file to DRAM on the handheld device prior to being used"
