View Full Version : Thinnest T3 Case?

I'm looking for recommendations on T3 cases. I carry the T3 in a front pants pocket; am hoping for a thin & light case (pref. flip-top), probably leather.
(Yes, I DID search before posting!) :D
Thanks
Steve

Are you looking for screen protection or crush/drop protection? If it's just screen protection and the stock flip-top doesn't do, then take a look at the plastic clear cases. There's a recent post on the Boxwave that has my response and recommendation. You can get the same case from proporta and JavoEdge.
I expect that the metal cases I've heard of are too bulky, plus none of them flip up. They all open to the left or right.
I don't know anything about leather cases because I find they add too much bulk. But that's just my opinion.

Thanks, Bob. Drop protection is the main issue.
I'm going to try going "case-less" for awhile. I agree: most of the leather cases are just too thick (I looked at several today at Stapes).
I've managed to attach a sort of bungie cord tether to the flip-top of the T3, with the other end clipped to a belt loop. It helps keep the Palm from hitting the floor.

That's a difficult combination - drop protection AND thin. Probably the metal cases are the best compromise. Any other pockets you can use :-)

metal cases seem to be all very bulky. I saw several and actually bought one -the PDAir aluminum one - for one week before returning it. I was not happy with the bulk. Now I am using the sena leather case, which is very sleek. Some leather ones come with extra pockets for credit cards and such, but I want it thinner, and do not want it in my pocket, so I have it clipped to my belt (the mechanism is excellent, too - just like my old vaja case).

I just got the sena case without the belt clip. I thought the attachment would add too much thickness. Strangely enough, this case seems to make the T3 feel a little thinner.

Does the Sena case have access on the back for the reset pin? Or do you have to remove the unit from the case to access the reset button?

For the sena case, you have to bend the back cover slightly and arch the stylus a bit, but you can reset without removing the case. No permanent damage.
