All these dongles are USB, but i'm thinkin, firewire is similar to USB, but it gives more power. therefore, it would be able to give better range on a bluetooth dongle.

i just bought a laptop that has this little firewire thing that i hav eno devices for, so are there any firewire Bluetooth dongles out there?

I don't think giving the thing more power would make the signal go farther. If you want a far signal get a 100 Meter or Bluetooth Router.

FireWire's more oriented for data transfer, whereas USB is more general-purpose.

I haven't seen any FireWire wireless stuff at all, though one company had developed a FireWire-over-wireless chip.
