SJ 22 was released in HK. Looks like it's a SJ30 with a new name

Just checked it out and it has the exact same dimensions...How lame

Ok...I'm fine with that :)

That means I don't have to buy new cases to fit the SJ33 form....hehe

They have probably managed to find ways to reduce the costs involved in producing a SJ30, which has led to the SJ22.

It's only 1800 HKD, which is about 200 USD. Cheeeepo.

And guys, this is a historic moment: there are no black/white Palms anymore in Sony's line. :)

Thats in HK & Japan, the SL10 & SJ20 are still here in the US probably not for long though.

They would be stupid for them to drop B&W models entirely. I'm using an SJ20 now and would love to see it hit the SL10's prices.

There is something strange: on Infosync World, they mention something about internal MP3 and side-mounted USB port, which don't show on the page at SonyStyle HK...

Maybe the US version will be different? Don't know what to think any more...

I don't know what Larry at Infosync is talking about. The mini-USB port on the side definitely isn't in any of the pictures on the HK site. Click on "Product OUtline" to see diagrams of the thing.

And the headphones he mentions being sold seperately are the the clip-on MP3 player Sony has offered for at least a year.

BTW, heck of a surprise that the SJ22 looks just like the SJ30. I was expecting it to look like the SJ33, except without the MP3 player.

I was surprised also. I thought SonyHK was wrong when they posted the SJ22, but i guess not... :(

That is putting it lightly. I was expecting the SJ22, like you Ed, to be more like the SJ33 not the SJ30. In some ways it's good that Sony hasn't entirely abandoned the SJ20/30 body style, so new users can experience awesome accesories like the Innopocket Fliptop Cover. The SJ22 does have a slightly sexier look with the black insert and silver exterior, but it only serves as a possible upgrade for SL10 or SJ20 users at it's price.

I hope Sony didn't ditch D2G with the SJ22, because that is a selling piece of software for their handhelds. I'm lucky to have gotten D2G Premium for Christmas, and I cannot be without the program. I use it alot at work, and in conjunction with the folding keyboard it has replaced the word processing needs of my laptop.

Same here! I'm all upset. ;(

I was really counting on the 66 MHz, color display and longer battery life. It would have been a steal.

I'm glad I know now.

Why are you people upset? It's a cheaper SJ30! What more could you want? There's no real advantage to use the SJ33 body.

If i'm not wrong, I think the picture there is an SL10 with the screen modified with some graphic editor. You can tell because the buttons are black, and the screen doesn't seem to match the lighting of the rest of the photo.

It's definately some other kind of black than the SL10 uses, and the screens NEVER match the lighting of the rest of the photos because they are never real.

haha...i just noticed something.

Sony is calling the SJ22 a "real" upgrade for the SJ20. No new design or features except a color screen that wasn't on the SJ20 before. And did you notice what it said on the SonyStyle HongKong Clie Homepage in the advertisement for the SJ22? It said "Now with USB Cradle!". If this was a "brand-new" release, why would they say "Now" if the PDA had never been released before?

(As you can see, i'm very bored... :rolleyes: )

just one question, does the sj-22 have exactly the same body as sj-30 ? i mean does the sj-22 also have this "bump/hump" where the sl-10/20 had the place for battery ?
