Hello, I am just so really confused! I was gifted a UX50 by my dad, and having installed too many apps I was going for a Hard reset. Unknowingly I might have deleted some important files.
Now I was following the manual to install a Wireless LAN connection on my Clié when I see that when i do Network->Services I don't have an option called Wireless LAN at all. :( I mean I cannot set up a wireless connection at all now :( I am just so thoroughly screwed, my dad will kill me if he finds out! PLEASE any of the gurus here, please help me restore that or at least some way to install a Wireless LAN connection on my Clié.
I have tried everything BTW, I hotsync everyday, used to think that there is a backup of those kind of "important" files on the computer, but then again, there ain't.
Thank you ever so much in advance

hmm..strange..didnt think a hard reset would do that. did a hard reset once and my UX50 is fine. a backup on my PC restored my last backup. try a soft reset see what happens. btw did you delete your progs manualy through clie files? dont delete anything your not sure of. i also would recommend getting uninstall manager.

One n00b to another: are you sure you have the UX50 and not the UX40? How many lights do you have on the right side of the screen? Have you connected to WiFi before the reset?
Don't freak out -- we'll figure out what's wrong... :)

I'm not too sure 'cos he wasn't all that detailed, but I think he meant to say he went & deleted some important stuff...then he did a hard reset.
OK ux50n00b...take a DEEP breath. If the problem is fixable, we will fix it for you here.
This is what I believe: Either you have a UX40. Or indeed, some of the missing Wireless LAN files were deleted.
The latter is quite possible because I recall a memeber here who in fact did own a UX50 he bought as an open box unit and came to us with the same problem ux50n00b. The Wireless LAN options simply weren't there. They (along with other stuff) were in fact missing. Please do a search because I honestly don't remember the thread, but it wasn't that long ago if I remember correctly...like a couple of months or less. :)

hehe ok not THAT big a n00b not to know if I have a UX50 or 40. Yes I do have UX50, and the files were deleted by me. After I did the hard reset :(
But Winexprt, thanks for the Tip, I am gonna do a search and if I do find something :) I'll be sure I post the link here.
