I know the TH55 battery life is exceptional for a Palm PDA but one can never have too much of a good thing so I thought I'd start a thread on tips and tricks for maximising the battery life on a TH55.

Apart from the blindingly obvious, i.e. set the backlight as low as you can tollerate and keep all wireless and IR turned off unless you are using it, are there any other tips and tricks that people know of?

Has anyone tried underclocking at all? With the inbuilt ability of the TH55 to clock itself down to 8MHz I expect that there is little if anything to be gained from underclocking, even if there are any utilities to do it for the TH55, but I thought I'd ask.

This is probably as good a thread as any for this question.

Has anyone adjusted the power limits on their TH55 and, if so, what software did you use to do it? The few utilities I found on Palmgear all seemed old and aimed at devices with replaceable batteries.

Is the 10% threshold at which the TH-55 starts displaying low battery warnings just the default for PalmOS? My thinking is that if it is, and if what is really important is time before device failure, then with the TH55 having about twice the battery life of a Tungsten T3 one could change the TH55 threshold down to 5% and still have the same time to failure as a T3. The other thing I'd like to change is the cutoff for memory stick access, again down to 5%.

Is it even possible to change the thresholds? What are people's thoughts on the consequences of doing it? Would cycling the battery slightly deeper have any impact on its long term performance?
