Have you guys seen this:

http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?&prodID=46776

It plays MP3 and WMA files (no big deal there). What really caught my eye was the line that said "will incorporate MPEG-4/DivX decoding shortly."

This could be HUGE. A DivX player for Palm OS 5. With the existing DivX movie converters, this will be a GREAT opportunity for people to play movies on their handheld. Now, if they get some support for HiRes+, people will be set. Well, everyone but me. Still using my lowly NR70V with 4.1 on it. ;)

Unfortunately, I bet this wont work on Clies. Sony has not released a lot of info to developers about the audio API in teh OS5 devices and apparently it is different than that of the Palm Tungsten T. We'll see..

Yeah, it's definitely wait and see at the moment. The current 1kb download probably doesn't do much (I'm not attempting to load it on my non-OS 5 machine). The README says that it won't be available for a few days.

Palmgear no longer has it online.

"The selected product has been removed from our database by its developer!"

If it was only 1k, it sounds suspiciously like the Quake for Palm spam scam.

Has anyone been able to get this to work? I try to add MP3's to the playlist, and they get added, but it gives an error message and they won't play.

I have to disagree about the WMA thing- I think WMA support would be fabulous! Compared to MP3, a WMA file encoded at half the bit rate will sound just as good, i.e. a 64kbs WMA file sounds just as good as a 128 kbs MP3 file. This would enable you to fit almost twice as many tunes on a memory stick :D

Now to see if it actually works...
