Well, all of this dead pixel fiasco with Expansys and the TH55/E is over. Got my refund from Expansys, went to Fry's today to pick up a TH55/U. When I was there though, I noticed that the ipaq 4155 was the same price as the TH55. I guess experiencing the ability to connect to the net with my SE T610 and TH55/E via bluetooth spoiled me 'cause once I saw that the prices were the same for the TH55/U and the 4155, I had a really really hard time deciding which to get. Sure the TH55 has a larger screen, but the screen on the ipaq 4155 was gorgeous as well and it has bluetooth in addition to wifi. I have experience with the PocketPC OS and I'm fine with it. The things that kept holding me back though from getting the 4155 is the fact that I have alot of Palm Software and CLIE accessories. Also, the TH55 is Sony's last and top model, so I know I'll have the best "CLIE". And since HP will be releasing new models soon, I don't know if they'll ever release a Windows Mobile 2003SE update for the 4155.

I have 15 days to return the TH55 just in case I change my mind and decide to go with the 4155. I also got the two years instant replacement plan for only $40 dollars more. I like Fry's because of that. I guess over the next 14 days, I'll have to think really hard whether or not I will keep the TH55.

what would you do when the new ipaqs came out and made your 4155 obsolete?

Good choice on the TH55, but then you're talking to a Palm-fan. Why not visit PPC sites and read what they have to say about the 4155? :)

Anyone know of any good PPC sites besides Brighthand and PPC Thoughts?

I've decided to keep the TH55. I just got a JavoEdge case for it. Haven't actually put the unit into the case yet though. Anyone have a Brando, PDAir or Brando book type case that does not want the removable credit card / ID holder? The only thing missing from the JavoEdge is that removable card holder (which I really need).

I guess since I have the Fry's 2 year instant exchange warranty, I'll just take advantage of that when I need to. The Fry's employee that I spoke with said that since Sony is discontinuing their PDA's that if I ever need to use that instant exchange plan, I could choose any PDA that has the same price as when I bought the TH55.

Oh no! Dyanism emailed me today and said that they have received 15 TH55/E's from the UK, but they want $589 for them. That's just too much.

Word on the streets is that the next models won't be any major improvements or enhancements to the current ones. I considered the 4155 because of the BT/WiFi combo, but somehow I just can't see giving up my UX50 yet. I tried one of the TH55/E units for awhile, but I will take the UX form factor over the TH one any day.

:D
