I'm thinking about picking up a Tungsten T2 (they're $199 at CompUSA right now). However, the speaker on the unit I played with sounds pretty bad--it almost sounds like the alarms are being played back on a cassette tape or the thing is under a pillow! Not sharp and clear like previous Clies I've owned or my current Zodiac.
Is this what I can expect from any Tungsten or PalmOne product?

Hi,
I am using a Tungsten T2 for over 7 months now and I have no complaints about it. As it comes to the standard speaker of the device it is of much better quality than the Ipag 1940 which a friend of me owns.
Good luck

I just got a T2 a few weeks ago. The speaker sounds fine with just a little EQ tweaking from whatever music program you're using, but the headphone jack is another case altogether. The headphone sound quality gets a B+, but the volume is far too low for music. Fine for audio books, or for background music, but if you really want to crank it up or pump up bass, it's nowhere near up to it.
As a side note, I just bought a "Boosteroo" in-line amplifier on recommendation from a web site. It was only about $25, but it's much larger than its picture would suggest - longer than the T2 itself - and while it does make the sound louder, it also makes it sound worse. I don't reccomend that route to anyone.
