Mardi Gras pictures taken with a Sony F505V and an NZ90 are at the link below. I randomly shot with either device and all of the shots are "on the run" with no tripod, so it's hardly a scientific comparison.
505 was @ 1856x1392
NZ90 was @ 1600x1200, "fine".
Images are large.
My conclusions: it's obvious that the 505 destroys the NZ90, but that's to be expected--that camera costs as much as the PDA and has a far better lens. In my opinion, the NZ90 pics are perfectly acceptable and if it's the "camera" you happen to be carrying when opportunity arises, it's certainly going to be better than not having a camera at all.
Disclaimer: If you're afraid of seeing human beings having fun, are shocked by images that reveal that (some) other human beings possess the exact same body parts as you do, etc., then don't look. Messages expressing outrage will be deleted with unbelievably speed.
