hires+ pocket aquarium

A new version of this app was just released, pocket aquarium 2.1. It says it is capable of being hires+ but I can't get it to work for some reason. It just displays normal hires. the bottom part of the screen (where the VG should be) is just plain white. On the tatem games website it has a screenshot of the hires+. I am using the demo right now but if I can get the hires+ to work I might buy it. Anybody figure out how to make the hires+ part of this app work? I think it would make a really cool screensaver for my NX if I can get it figured out. here are the links:
