SplashID Problems

About two weeks ago I bought SplashID for my Sony Clie TH55. Everything including HotSyncing worked perfect until today. This morning I added five new things in SplashID. As usuall I started to HotSync with my computer. Clie Organizer and all of my other programs Syncronized the way they usually do and then it got to SplashID. It stayed at SplashID for more than two hours staight. I got very tired of waiting so I canceled it. I then restarted my computer, did a soft reset on my Clie, and then tryied to HotSync again. The same thing happened. It stayed at SplashID so then I canceled. I dont know why this is duing this because I did it yestersay and it worked perfectly fine. What is the problem and is there anything I can do or change for this to work properly again?

I would simply try uninstalling and re-installing SplashID.

I reinstalled SplashID on my Clie and I still did not have any luck. I will take a look at that forum.

Also, export your current database to somewhere safe just in case.

Had something very similar happen yesterday also. I had entered some data but while doing so did a field edit on an individual record (bad idea from hindsight!), then went to "edit types" and edited the field there also.

To corrrect the "hang" during hotsync, I simple right clicked on the hotsync system tray icon, selected "Custom" and changed the SplashID to "Desktop overwrites handheld," and synced just fine. Of course this will wipe out the data you entered, but that's what you'll have to do if you made similar changes and not just field entry inputs.

The lesson I learned is to change field names separate and sync, then do the simple data entry. ;) Hope this helps.

Hi,

I got spashID and splashPhoto loaded, and no matter what setting I put in the hotsync setup, they just don't sync.

I can live with out it in the desktop, but I got lots of data in the ID and photo in the pda.

Thanks! Although some of the features (categories, icons) are overkill, it is a great program. I store literally everything about everything in my life in it! :)

Are you using passwords? If so, set both the PDA and desktop app back to "none" (by not entering anything in the new password prompt), resync and see if that helps. Once you get the sync working, then you can set your password (must be same on both desktop and PDA).

need to be on the HandHeld?
can i move splashid.prc to the handheld for sync and later move to MS card ?
