HY,
I am using Outlook and my good new NX70 and Clie Mail.
Whenever I start a hotsync Outlook asks me if I want to allow a programm(HotsyncMgr) to access my email adresses.
Can I stop Outlook from doing this? It is also asking me wether I want to allow this programm to send a mail with my account.
Plz help. It is quite annoying

You're running up against an Outlook security feature that prevents unauthorized access to your address book (so that virii/worms can't send themselves to all your friends). When you try to sync your Clie address book to Outlook you get this alarm - but it depends on what software you're using to handle the sync'ing. I know that Chapura's PocketMirror doesn't have this problem, but perhaps the bundled IntelliSync program does. Since contacts don't update frequently, you can always disable this conduit in HotSync Mgr. and only run it occasionally . . . . or maybe there is a program update/patch for Intellisync that will fix this

Yeah that was what I knew. But you are right. I haven't had this problem with the Chapura conduit.
Do you have/had the same problem??
Is ist possible to overcome this security feature?
(Like placing the Outlook icon in the tray...)
Thanx for your reply.

The "quick" fix would be to change the security zone that Outlook is in (Tools/Options/Security) but this does open a door for viruses, so I really don't recommend it - not only is it bad for you, but it is also bad for everyone in your address book :(
Probably worth the investment in another conduit package, or disabling the conduit as I mention above - again, others may know how to get around this Intellisync issue

Thanx for the reply.
I am not willing to change back to Chapura since it has not the great features I wish to have.
And well I changed the security zone (I am used to viruses and know how to avoid them) but this did not help.
Any other comments?

To the original poster: do yourself a favor and do a search before posting a question.

To the responder above: below is a quote from a post of mine on the matter a while back. Please note this applies to Outlook 2002, and Outlook 98 and 2000 that have been patched with the Outlook Email Security Update and :

I did quite a bit of searching on this, and this website with all the answers:

You cannot disable the "Object Model Guard" through any setting. If you use Outlook with an exchange server (i.e. setup on a LAN to access your mail from a dedicated outlook server) your administrator can go through a huge hassle to fix this, but if you use Outlook at home on your PC you can forget it.

You can download a utility called "Click-Yes" from http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html

It runs in your system tray, and you can suspend it when needed. It will automatically "click yes" to allow the conduit access to Outlook.

I use Click-Yes, and it allows Clie mail to sync with Outlook (I'm using Intellisync Lite that came with my NX70). However, my outgoing emails are only transferred to my Outlook "outbox". There they sit, until I open outlook and do a "send and receive". I'm very unhappy with this, because it defeats the purpose of composing mail on my Clie. I may as well just type up a memo on my Clie, then copy and paste to an email in Outlook then send.

On as regards access i don't know certainly, try Outlook fixer (http://www.recoverytoolbox.com/fix_outlook.html), it may software allows you to easily repair damaged .pst files and recover your information by making a few easy steps, restore info after internal software errors, power failures or hard drive crashes, let alone other possible reasons.
