View Full Version : App to resolve duplicate alarms - test?

Hi everyone,

I have written an app which resolves duplicate alarms between the CO date book and Palm date book. With it installed I don't get dupe alarms anymore.

After every hotsync or time change, it detects if a dupe alarm was generated and removes it. If a duplicate alarm does occur under a scenario it does not handle, it will detect *that* and prevent the next alarm from being a dupe.

If you would like to try this app, IM me or post here.

If enough people would find this useful (and provided it works for everyone else and not just me!), I will post a download link.

Thanks and regards,
Simon

Thanks for fixing a bug that Sony should have fixed a long time ago. The dual alarm bug drove me to DateBk5 because it handles the alarms exclusively. Now I'm hooked! If you post the link, I'll download it to keep just in case. Thanks again!!

egarc,

Thanks, and you bet. I considered going back to DB5 too, for this and several other reasons. But I'm still sticking with CO DB for now, mostly for the digital ink capability.

lawiba and jzamoras,

I have emailed you copies of the app, please let me know if you do not receive it. Thanks for trying it.

Thanks everyone. All emails have been sent, please let me know if you don't receive yours.

In order not to inconvenience the board I will try to post a download link soon, in a new thread so people don't have to wade through this one to find it.

I wanted to clarify that this app, called 1xAlarm, currently handles only CO date book and the core Palm date book.

It does *not* handle Agendus or any other 3rd party date book. In particular, Agendus - like DB5 - has its 'unique' handling of alarms making it a little harder to figure the squash algorithm. If you would like to see support added for Agendus or any other date book app please let me know.

Btw, I am open to and would appreciate any suggestions (or criticisms!) at all as to the name of this app, its nature or any other aspect of it.

Thanks and regards,
Simon

Hi everyone,

I have posted a download link in this thread: 1xAlarm (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60978).

If you would like to try the app please download it from there. Thanks again to all of you who have been kind enough to be the first to test it! If you could post any feedback or suggestions in that thread I would appreciate it and I would also be more than glad to answer any questions there.
